Anglo European School
Bulletin for w/c 7th May 2024 - Week 2
Best of luck to our incredible Year 11 students as they prepare for their GCSE examinations!
Exams are another opportunity for you to demonstrate your amazing knowledge and skills. Approach them with confidence, knowing that you've put in the effort and are ready to tackle any challenge that comes your way. We're cheering you on every step of the way! You've got this!
Peter Jones Academy Placement
The Peter Jones Foundation collaboration guarantees our Sixth Form IBCP students a work experience placement with the foundation’s network of international start up companies. This year, students were partnered with "Eating with Elephants", a social enterprise with international connections, to utilise their language skills and business acumen in the development of a live marketing project. Noelle, Nigel and Rocco met with Mrs Gee to share their recent work experience placement.
Mrs Gee shared a fabulous letter from Bill Muirhead, CEO of the Peter Jones Foundation who wrote to her to express his "absolute pleasure" at hosting these three students at the Foundation. Whilst working there, they spent time researching social entrepreneurship and the B Corp Movement and spent time studying the company 'Patagonia'. As a thank you for their commitment, diligence and professional manner, Bill sent 3 copies of "Let my People Go Surfing" by the founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard, as a reminder of their time spent working at the Foundation. It is clear that these three IBCP students have been a real credit to the school.
Parents and students can find out more about our unique partnership here https://www.aesessex.co.uk/sixth-form/curriculum/new-page-2/
Ex-Head Student Team meet with Mrs Gee
Mrs Gee enjoyed the opportunity of having tea and cake with the Head Team who support the school last year. She recalled their achievements whilst in post, celebrated their legacy projects and wished them well for their upcoming exams and future career pathways. Particular congratulations to James and Ethan, whose leadership was recognised at our recent Awards Evening.

Here are 3 reasons why you should not miss out on this memorable event:
- Indulge in some complimentary refreshments
- Enjoy our history exhibition, filled with cherished photos and fascinating artefacts spanning decades of our school's legacy, we will also be joined by local historian Robert Fletcher, who will share the history of Ingatestone and its connection with the school.
- Catch up with old friends and colleagues, or even chat with some of our extended Anglo Family to understand what the school means to them.
School Uniform Donations
If you are in the process of clearing wardrobes of uniform that is no longer required or no longer fits, please think about donating these to the school. We have regular requests for all items of uniform and we know how much parents appreciate the money this saves them in these financially difficult times.
Community Event Fund Competition
The Hutton and Shenfield Choral Society have been hiring our school hall to hold their concerts for many years now, with their latest concert being held on Saturday 13th July. The society have recently entered into the Community Event Fund Competition run by Ticket Source. They have named the Anglo European School Music Department as the recipient of the £1,000 prize should they be fortunate enough to win.
Public voting opens on 1st May for one month, with the winners being announced on 3rd June. We will like to encourage parents, staff and students to vote in this competition to support this bid. Voting is very simple and will take just a few seconds - please use the link below.
