As we prepare for the holiday season, I want to thank everyone who has made our (I mean, your) library system so successful in 2024. Whether it be checking out books, downloading audiobooks, browsing through our newly digitized local newspapers, participating in our programs, using the Bookmobile, visiting our Tell City and Cannelton locations, and so so much more; I just want to say, thank you. Your library strives to be a community leader and a beacon of education, information, and recreation. We've done some big things these last couple years, but the best is yet to come. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Tammy has worked at the library for 16 years, she first came to us in February 2008 as a Clerk at the circulation desk. From there she moved into a full-time position in 2010 on the Bookmobile as the Assistant. In 2020 she took over the Genealogy department after Cindy Kaufman retired. One thing she wants patrons to know is, if you need help finding anything Genealogy related, email her at tharrington@perrycountypl.org or stop in the library to see her. That is what she is here for! She will do the research and send you what she finds. You can search Perry County history of course, but there are other great resources in the department of some of the surrounding counties and even some on Kentucky! The new “Perry County Newspaper & Yearbook Digital Archive” is live and available for everyone to use from anywhere. Consisting of many Perry County newspapers and yearbooks from the late 1800s to 1977 (for newspapers) and 2015 (for yearbooks) as possible, these resources are now keyword searchable so information that took months to find now takes minutes.
