Hello Legacy Families!

As always, we have A LOT coming up in the next few weeks that I would like to draw your attention to:

Sunday, 11/3, Dino Dash

If you haven't registered yet for Dino Dash, we hope you will consider registering and selecting Legacy as your school. We are extremely proud of the fact that we have held the title for highest participating secondary school since the year we opened, and we have no plans of letting that trophy go! You can register for the 2K, 5K, 10K, Bike Race, or even purchase a Runnership (a sponsorship for a student in need), ALL of these count towards our registration, and $10 from EACH goes directly back to Legacy. See below for info to register. Thank you for your support!

Finally, if you ride your bike to school, you MUST walk your bike when crossing the street. We have been informed by the crossing guards that there have been several near misses, and we want to ensure that you are safe. Parents, please discuss with your bike riders.

This past weekend, our Middle School Robotics team competed in their second tournament, and we’re excited to share that it was a huge success! The team brought home five awards in total. Team V won both the Skills Champion Award and the prestigious Excellence Award. Team W earned the Think Award, Team X received the Build Award, and Team Y was honored with the Design Award. The Skills Champion and Excellence Awards also guarantee Team V a spot at the State Championship. While we won’t receive confirmation until November, it’s likely that the Design Award will secure another State Championship spot for Team Y. Based on our performance in the first two tournaments, it looks like three out of our five Middle School Legacy Teams will be heading to States!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Activity

Today we had a tie-dye activity to celebrate and honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We got to tie-dye bandanas and receive fun goodies. All proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. We hope you had fun!

New 6th Grade ASB Members

Thank you, 6th graders, for all of your hard work on applications. We are so excited to welcome our new 6th grade ASB members Ethan N, Jack L, Olivia E, Isabelle C, and Erin K!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Baile Night

Our very first Baile night is next Wednesday, the 16th! There will be a movie, a Quinceanera dress pageant, face painting, a taco caterer, Hispanic treats, OSCA folklorico dancers, and more to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! We hope to see you there!

Boo Grams

Boo Grams are on sale starting next Monday, October 14th for only $1 each at the TIDE Shack! They’re on sale until October 28th. Buy s spooky treat for your boo!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear teal, steel, and PINK each Friday in October to honor and support patients and survivors!

RISE Pop-Up Shops

We will have our next RISE Pop-Up Shop on the 18th! Use your RISE Tickets to purchase snacks and LMA merchandise.

Senior Parking Spot Fundraiser

Seniors! Are you tired of parking in the sun alongside sophomores and juniors? Enter in the drawing to win a shaded parking spot! A new winner will be drawn each month, and your purchases will continue to roll over! Purchase as many tickets as you’d like!

“Where’s Dash?” Competition

Keep a lookout for mini dino ducks hidden around campus every Wednesday! It’s a fun competition to get excited for Dino Dash! Don’t forget to sign up or sponsor a runner to keep our winning streak.

TIDEpool Tutoring

Next Monday is our first TIDEpool Tutoring session. This is a time for Middle School students to receive help from their High School mentors. It will take place in Mr. Maduenos' room every Monday during point break.

Cookie Fundraiser

This month, there is a fundraiser for the Seniors TV, Film, and Digital Media class. Cookies and treats can be shipped home or to the school and will be distributed at the end of the month. Purchase at tinyurl.com/lmafilmfund

Pickleball Club Tournament

Serve up the fun at the Pickleball Club Tournament! The Pickleball Club is hosting a month-long tournament from now until October 28th. Bring your friends to watch or compete in this fun tournament.
