New Announcements - Parents/Guardians and Students
ACT Opportunity
The Snohomish School District will be offering the ACT (American College Test) free of charge for all high school juniors. Glacier Peak High School Juniors will take their test on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 during the school day. This is an amazing opportunity for students to take a college entrance exam at no cost to families and for our schools to collect data that will help improve student learning.
Juniors will need to have a school laptop to take the test, there will not be loaners available to you on the day of the test. Please stop by the library to get a laptop asap. If you wait until the week of the test, we may not have any available to give out, so please don't delay.
Look for instructions to be sent out the week of the test to ensure that all updates are installed and that your laptop is in good working order.
FAFSA Completion Workshop
Please join us Thursday, February 8 6-8 p.m. in the Glacier Peak Library for a FAFSA/WASFA completion workshop. Families should bring: Driver's license/state ID if you have one, income information (bank statements, 2022 tax information, child support statements, etc), student and parent FSA ID, and student and parent social security number (if you have one). The evening will be drop-in workshop style to assist families in completing their FAFSA.
College visit this week
Seattle Central will be in the C&CC Tuesday, February 6 during Grizzly Period. All students are welcome, no passes are required.
Glacier Peak Health Promotion club - Blood Drive 2024
Blood donors are urgently needed to combat a severe shortage. Only 28% of donors needed in January and February have signed up to donate. What can our community do to help? Book a donation appointment during the next several weeks! Luckily, the Bloodworks team will be coming to campus so we can help save lives! Book your appointment for the Glacier Peak High School Blood Drive for Thursday, February 22. There is capacity to serve 46 blood donors, and appointments are expected to fill quickly. Universal Type O donors are extremely important, especially for cancer, trauma, and emergency patients. Giving blood is easy to do and saves lives in our local hospitals. Donors need to be at least 16 years old, and need to check in with photo ID. It takes about an hour to get thru the full donation process. If you need help booking an appointment, call the Donor Care Team at 800-398-7888.
They say that kindness is love in action. We believe that donating blood is the very best example there is of the kindness of a stranger. Blood donations go to people we don’t know and will never meet, yet it’s an act of kindness that changes the course of that stranger’s life. The impact of your donation is measured in the remissions, recoveries, and second chances they directly help create. Come out to the Glacier Peak High Blood Drive, Thursday, February 22, to show your kindness in saving lives. Start to finish, you can get thru the donation process in 40-60 minutes. Book a Blood Donation Appointment
