Be Prepared for Snow Days!
Tech Tip Tuesday (November 15, 2022)

🏠It's coming! Be prepared!❄️
Here are some quick ways you can prep your students NOW!
1️⃣ Go over how students will connect on an e-learning day.
- Show them where your e-learning video link is (Schoology, Google Classroom, Padlet, Seesaw)
- Be transparent about expectations of attendance and work completions
2️⃣ Prepare an activity that can be completed without you present.
- When thinking about your instruction, your proximity is only through a screen. Consider review for a previous standard or an activity that can standalone as the work for that day.
3️⃣ Consider using a digital engagement platform like Google Workspace, Nearpod, or gamification (Quizizz, Gimkit, or Blooket)
- Since they are already on their devices, create engagement with their devices!
4️⃣ Use your Chromebook management (GoGuardian or Lightspeed Classroom) to help students get to where they need to!
- If you need to, help them by popping a link open to their screens and help them stay on task.
5️⃣ Treat it like what it is WITHOUT trying to recreate a regular school day.
- Screen time gets tiring. Consider how much students will need to listen online and what can be done asynchronously.
6️⃣ Ensure accountability.
- Provide students with a central hub for all classroom materials, assignments, digital tools, and anything else required to complete tasks.
🎥Zoom or Google Meet?🧑💻
Post it, communicate it, and keep it moderated!
You can communicate the link by posting it to your LMS (Schoology or Google Classroom) or using Padlet/Seesaw!
The key is that you want students to access it with ease.
Whichever you choose, stay consistent with your grade level team and school policy!
