ROCK'in Weekly Update
Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal
What a fantastic week we’ve had at "The Rock!" I want to take a moment to congratulate our students and staff on another great week of learning, collaboration, and school spirit.
This week, we celebrated Spirit Week in style! It was wonderful to see so many of our Wildcats showing their enthusiasm through:
🏈 Favorite teams and jerseys
🎨 Tie-dye creativity
😴 Cozy pajama day
💙 School spirit gear
✨ And plenty of fun accessories!
As we head into Winter Recess, I encourage everyone to take time to:
✔️ Relax and have fun
✔️ Rest up and do something for yourself
✔️ Focus on health and well-being
Just a reminder that school will be closed from Monday, February 17, through Friday, February 21. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, recharged and ready to go, on Monday, February 24!
Enjoy the break and stay warm!
BE AWESOME!

Miss Giannino's ADA-PEP Counselor News
Over break enjoy time as a family as much as you are able! I will be using the time to rest, relax and refresh. When students return from break I will be in all library classes K-4 teaching about Careers and College Readiness with Mrs. Nagle. Over break tell your child what you do for work or your favorite part about school when you were a student. You can also ask them what college or career path interests them most. You might be surprised by what they share!

Join the West Genesee Culture Celebration on March 1, 2025
The annual West Genesee Culture Celebration is an exciting opportunity to showcase the rich diversity of the West Genesee district and the broader Camillus community. This special event highlights the many cultures that make up our community through performances and table displays by students, families, and community groups.
Last year’s event featured an array of contributions, including:
- Ukrainian Dance Ensemble
- Tearney's Martial Arts
- Folk and Irish Dancers
- Social Justice Coalition
- Displays on South Korean, Palestinian, and Bulgarian heritage
We want your culture to be part of this year’s celebration! Whether through a performance or a table display sharing your traditions, history, and heritage, we encourage as many families and groups as possible to participate.
As you will see on the flyer, this year we are asking attendees to consider donating an item to benefit one of two organizations. We are collecting children's books, playdough, fidget spinners, art supplies, and puzzles for AccessCNY's new respite center which provides support for students facing mental health crises, and granola bars, packaged fruit, and Kraft Easy Mac for West Genesee's Power Pack program which benefits students in the WGCSD PreK-12.
Thanks for your help with spreading the word about this amazing event for our community! Let’s make this celebration a true reflection of our multicultural community and foster a culture of inclusion in our schools. We look forward to celebrating with you!
