Ms. Clarke's class celebrating as a new class family. Based on our enrollment, we got to expand our 3rd grade to five classes.

Shenandoah University Students Join GQES!

We value our connection and partnership to Shenandoah University. Students from SU and Dr. Bryan Pearce-Gonzales's class join us to work with both teachers and students.

Breakfast Time in Pre-K

Our youngest students transition into their Pre-K classrooms daily and enjoy their breakfast together.

Open Library

Students get to choose their own morning routine plan. Students have the option to go outside to recess after they finish their breakfast and morning task or go to the open library with Ms. Diner.

Math Workshop Games!

Students engaged in their math games during math workshop!

Collaborating & Communicating

Students explore building together using magnetic blocks like Magna-tiles....these are a favorite to many students!

Morning Math Task

This kindergarten students is focused as he is using tens frames to represent numbers!

Small Group Math Lessons

This teaching table is organized and ready to learn as students have materials to represent numbers by drawing base ten blocks to support their thinking and show their understanding of place value.

GQES Turkey Trot 2024

Save the Date: We will be having our annual GQES Turkey Trot on Monday, November 25th during specials. All families are invited to this outdoor event. In the event of inclement weather, we will have a rain date on Tuesday, November 26th. Unfortunately, if the event is moved indoors, we will not be able to invite families to participate. The Annual Turkey Trot is an exciting time for fun, fellowship, and fitness! We hope to have many families come and walk/run during the time at our Turkey Trot. If you are coming to participate in our Turkey Trot, simply have your identification ready, so you can sign in the main office to help us maintain safety. You are welcome to take your child home after the event, if you wish, again by signing your child out in the office. We would like to raise funds for school projects from our Turkey Trot's donations.



A few gentle reminders:

1. Please make sure to dress your child appropriately for the weather including labeling your child's clothing in the event a jacket or hat is left behind outside at recess.

2. See the calendar below for the dates for After School Tutoring for our first semester, please.

3. Always, always, always be calm and patient during arrival and dismissal procedures and most importantly, be safe!
