Hi Church

This week we are jumping right into the sermon on the mount. Jesus is going to show us the conditions of the flourishing life. But they are strange conditions. Blessed are those who mourn, who are meek and for those who are poor in spirit. We usually think of blessing as the opposite of that. We will look at what Jesus means by the conditions of blessing.

Also there is a video in the newsletter that talks about the concept of Virtue. That is an important word when it comes to the sermon on the mount. It may help frame some understanding of how Jesus is approaching the sermon in Matthew 5-7.

● Praise the Lord for Toby Smith’s launch into a six-week soccer mission in Chicago and Brazil. Please keep him in prayer during this mission.

● Praise the Lord for Paul Pelletier's healing from a serious diabetic issue last week on Cape Cod.

● Praise the Lord for all our high school and college graduates. Pray for the next phase of their young lives.

● Pray protection and safety for Arlene Coccia’s granddaughter, Olivia, in her housing situation in Maryland.

● Pray for our lead Pastor, John Eger as he begins a new series this summer based on the Sermon on the Mount.

● Pray for the van purchase process in Ukraine funded by Dawn Mattera’s Love From Above Ministry.

● Pray for Stan, Jaynee, and Caleb Walker as they trek back to the states for their home assignment.

● Pray for the serious medical condition of TJ Steen’s mother.

● Praise the Lord for the Alpha Course led by Debbie Dean this Summer. Pray for the upcoming Art and Music Fun Shop.

Debbie Dean will be leading an Alpha Group starting Thursday May 23rd from 7 - 8:30pm. All are welcome.
