Homecoming Week!
This week is Homecoming! We will have dress-up days all week. Then, the week will culminate with an all-school assembly followed by the parade and football game on Friday. We are excited to see all the students dressed up and ready for a great time at the dance on Saturday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Let's have a great week!
Mrs. Atkins
Words from a Cop
Scenario time: You are at 7-Eleven. You get your drink and a snack, then walk up to the counter. The clerk is the bathroom cleaning and accidently leaves the register open with $20 in your reach. What would you do?
Let’s change the scenario to: You are walking through Robert’s Park. There are two people in front of you on the path. One of them takes their hand out of their pocket and a $100 falls out without them noticing. Do your surroundings change what you would do?
Life is full of right & wrong decisions, morals & ethics, and actions & consequences (positive and/or negative). Most of the time we are judged when someone is looking; however, what happens when no one is looking? That is the true judgement.
Holding yourself accountable, being responsible, and thinking before you act are all within the definition of integrity. Integrity does have different levels. If your mentality is “rules are meant to be broken”, then how much integrity do you really have? Your integrity also dictates consequences. Think of your integrity level next time there is a fork in the road. Apply integrity in those scenarios when you have to ask yourself what you should do. Don’t let your decision be the reason the rules get changed.
Stay safe, stay vigilant
CMU Band Day
