IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: FRIDAY GAME AT WEST BLOOMFIELD
For our students traveling to West Bloomfield for football on Friday, they will need:
Tickets loaded on their phone. WB does not accept cash. The ticket link can be found on the LOCS Athletics Website under the Purchase Tickets Button.
Students also need to bring their student ID. WB does not allow unaccompanied students to enter without their student ID. Only students from WB and LO are allowed to attend unless they are with an adult.
So, have your tickets, and bring your ID. If you don’t have your ID, they will allow you to use your PowerSchool ID on your phone.
Tardy Policy
Our tardy policy emphasizes the importance of punctuality and its role in student success. Arriving to class on time ensures that students are present for important instruction, minimizes disruptions to the learning environment, and fosters a sense of responsibility. Repeated tardiness can result in consequences such as detention or parent/student meeting with administration. By being on time, students develop habits that benefit them in school and future professional settings.

On the day or morning prior, students are asked to visit the Career Center to receive a pass that will excuse them from class. Be advised that students are responsible for any assigned work and the opportunity to miss class is at the discretion of the teacher.

Volunteers Needed
CELL PHONE POLICY
We are often asked how you, as parents/guardians, can support us here at school, which we greatly appreciate. One area we are asking for your unwavering support is with student cell phone/electronic device usage. Please know it is never our intent to take a personal device away from a student. We understand the important role it plays in communicating with your student and how helpful of a tool it can be within each family. However, the LOHS staff has the administration’s full support in holding students accountable regarding appropriate personal technology usage. This includes not having their devices out in class unless otherwise instructed. There will be times where a student can check his/her personal device, however, during instructional time is not one of those times.
Please note, should a student’s device be taken for inappropriate use, you may be contacted to come to school to collect the device. Should you need to contact your student, we politely ask that you call the main office, and we will be sure to communicate the message as quickly as possible.
Over the year, personal devices have become a disruption to the learning environment, therefore, your support in helping hold our students accountable to school expectations is much appreciated.
During instructional time, we are asking all students to please place their cellphones in the teacher provided caddies and/or be left in their backpacks. If cell phones remain powered on, they must be on silent and out of sight.
Food Deliveries
Students who choose to DoorDash, GrubHub or have food deliveries to the high school may NOT retrieve their order until their scheduled lunch period on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday as to not disrupt their class environment.
Wednesdays we will not allow food deliveries to the building during the school day. Students coming from OSTC MUST PLAN ACCORDINGLY, especially on Homeroom days.
Please note, all students receive a free breakfast and lunch through food services. On Wednesdays breakfast is served and the snack bar and school store are both open.
LO-AM
Here's our upcoming live broadcast schedule. There is a subscription fee to watch sporting events, but nearly half of the money comes back to directly support our LOHS Dragon Broadcast program (so they can continue to produce all the programming/streams!).
Tune in at www.dragonbroadcasting.org.
NOTE: Watch out for scammers! Many fake links tend to pop up on social media on game days. The Dragon Broadcasting website will always have the REAL link throughout the season. "
