®️ September SEL Trait - Relationship Building®️
Good afternoon Riverton families!
I am excited to launch our Riverton School Student of the Month campaign for the 2024-2025 school year. Each month three students will be recognized for their exemplary contributions to our school. The criteria for being nominated by a staff member will focus on the Riverton School's SEL theme of the month. Each student of the month will be invited to our Board of Education meeting, receive a certificate, and be invited to a luncheon hosted at the Riverton School in June, 2025.
Congratulations to September's Students of the Month who were recognized for the SEL characteristic of RELATIONSHIP BUILDING:
Preschool through 2nd Grade Student of the Month: Madelynn Coleman
Third Grade through Fifth Grade Student of the Month: Ezequiel Delcampo
Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade Student of the Month: Taylor Hicks
Great work!
Did you know? September is ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH.
Chronic absenteeism in kindergarten can predict lower test scores, poor attendance, and retention in later grades. Chronic absenteeism is defined as students missing 10% of the school year. School attendance is crucial because it lays the foundation for a child's education and future success. Regular attendance ensures that students have consistent access to valuable learning experiences, interactions with teachers and peers, and the opportunity to acquire essential knowledge and skills. Additionally, attending school regularly helps in building a strong support system through social connections, which can positively impact a child's emotional and social development. In essence, school attendance is a fundamental building block for academic achievement and personal growth.
Thank you for all you do to help have your child(ren) in school and ready to learn!
With gratitude,
Mr. Zagorski

Welcome to Riverton School Mr. Paley!
Hi! My name is Netanel Paley (“Mr. Nate”) and I am a 5th-year doctoral student in School Psychology at Temple University. Previously, I’ve done practicum placements at Edgewater Park School District, Bancroft Children’s Services, and CHOP, and I am currently a Clinical Extern at Nemours Children’s Health in Delaware. I use a whole-child approach in my work, and believe that strong, healthy relationships between schools and families are essential to children’s well-being. I live in South Philly with my wife Arielle and 2 kids: Nafshi (almost 5) and Neviah (almost 2). We love discovering new nature areas and outdoor activities in the Philly area and especially in South Jersey! Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar and exploring Philly’s rich culture and Jewish history. I am excited to work with your family this year at The Riverton School!
Preschool through 5th Week of Respect / 6th through 8th Week of Respect & Spirit Week
This calendar year brings two exciting weeks together for our school community. The Week of Respect is observed starting the first MONDAY of October by school districts in New Jersey. In 2024 that is October 7th! This is traditionally the same week our middle school students will participate in SPIRIT WEEK. Please note Preschool through 5th grade will celebrate Week of Respect with different dress up themes than our middle school students.
Please see the images below to preview our Preschool through 5th grade Week of Respect themes.
