With children at home for winter break, now’s the time to put safe gun storage on your holiday to-do list.
Follow These 3 steps to safe gun storage
1. Store Firearms - Store unloaded and secured by using a trigger lock, biometric lock, gun case, strong box, gun cabinet or gun safe.
2. Store Ammunition - Store and lock ammunition safely.
3. Restrict Access - Keep others from getting access to stored firearms 24/7. That includes family, friends, children, or other visitors.

Weiss High School Students Shine in JA Entrepreneurship Program
Over the past six weeks, Business Management students at Weiss High School immersed themselves in the JA It’s My Business program. This dynamic initiative introduced students to the principles of design thinking, guiding them through a hands-on process to:
- Empathize with a problem
- Identify a need and solution for a target market
- Prototype their concept
- Develop a market test
- Assemble a pitch deck to present their business idea
Working in teams, the students tackled real-world challenges with creativity and determination.
Three standout teams from Mrs. Matula’s classes earned an invitation to showcase their innovative ideas at the JA E2: Entrepreneurship & Empowerment Summit Area-Wide Pitch Competition.
In preparation for the event, students collaborated with experienced coaches to refine their presentations and enhance their public speaking skills. This invaluable experience not only strengthened their entrepreneurial skills but also boosted their confidence and teamwork abilities.
Pure Essence Wellness Studio - Elan Reed, Jordyn Conrod, Gabby Webster
Problem: In this day and age, women are often overlooked and under a lot of stress due
to the lack of useful places where women can focus on their mental and physical health,
while building a safe community around them.
Solution: Provide a safe and welcoming environment to women where they can improve
their mental and physical health through wellness and support.
CrudeFood - Kelvin Duong-presented; team members included Andrew Pham, Izaak Miller,
Carter Marsh)
Problem: The lack of access to recipes that only include ingredients already available in
the house.
Solution: CrudeFood creates a more available and adaptive recipe book that free
Americans from the commitment of buying something.
Airbend-O - Austin Parkhurst, Stanley Odoms, Bimen Fekry
Problem: We're solving the issue of manually moving and cleaning coils.
Solution: Instead, we're developing an automatic cleaning system that will clean the coils
as needed.
We’re incredibly proud of our Weiss Wolves and their commitment to innovation and excellence.
Keep an eye out for these future business leaders—they’re just getting started!

👏 Pfamily Kudos
· Behavior Department of Westview Middle School (via Anonymous): The WVMS behavior department pushes through each day with a smile on their face and giving their best effort to serve the population that we serve. Their detailed knowledge of the students, what makes them shine as well giving advice for the more troubling behaviors we might experience. I have also appreciated the collaborative effort and their feedback has made me a better and more empathetic teacher. Also, their lead Tammy Bland is one of the most helpful people I have met in all of PfISD. She gives everything she has to this job and the campus is lucky to have someone with her skills, knowledge, patience, empathy, and warm vibes on a daily basis. Thank you all for everything you do!!
· Ms. Rebecca Richmond of Northwest Elementary (via Anonymous): Going above and beyond for ensuring new teachers are successful at their job! Rebecca is super helpful and always nice. She intentionally goes out of her way to help others where she sees fit. She’s a phenomenal team player!
· David McAfee of Centergistic/Air Man :) (via Jennifer Bream): David has saved me so many times this school year with air situations!!! He truly is the best and always so friendly when helping me out. Not once has he ever made me feel bad when I have forgotten to request the air to be turned on in a timely manner for an event. Thank you so much for all you do!
· Nautica Sexton of Spring Hill Elementary/5th (via anonymous): Ms.Sexton goes above and beyond for her students. She is such a hard worker and is truly leaving an impact on her students everyday. · Stephanie Webb, Jamye Jaco, Cynthia Wright of Park Crest (via Anonymous): This is an awesome team of hardworking professionals. They are always looking at ways to push themselves and their students further. Superstars!
· Alexander Stec of WVMS Math (via Pat Watson): I have to commend Mr. Stec's commitment to his students and his ability to engage them for tutorials and following up on their work. All year he's been available after school multiple nights for a a line of students waiting at the door or a couple that want to do focused work. He continually evaluates his teaching to see how he can reach students differently. His student's exceptional test scores reflect the commitment he makes every day. Bravo.
· Claire Calvey of Brookhollow ES (via MES Staff): Ms Calvey is continuously thinking outside the box and improving processes for all of us. Even though she is a part of a different campus she still shares her great ideas and tools she creates with us. We appreciate and miss you!
· Hoda Mohamed, Angela Mathews and Rita Aleman of Technology (via Irene Morales): Fabulous job with Jingle and Mingle! The presentations are classroom tested and it is always a great party! Thank you!
· Amanda Hale of ROES/Special Education (via Blanca Rowley): As a first-year bilingual resource/inclusion teacher, I’ve had so much to learn, and Amanda has been an incredible support system. Even though she often works behind the scenes, she’s just a phone call or email away, always ready to answer my questions or offer advice. Her availability, patience, and guidance have made such a difference in my new position. Thank you, Amanda, for your patience support.
· Melissa Lehman of Riojas Elementary (via Melissa S): Ms. Lehman is an amazing teacher who goes above and beyond. She is so compassionate and caring of her students. She did an extraordinary job coordinating the 3rd grade market day! Thank you Ms. Lehman for all you do!
· Ms. Ana Puentes of Westview 6th grade ELA (via Felicia Castillo): It is such a blessing to have Ms. Puentes at Westview. She creates a safe and calm, eager to learn, environment for our students. She holds our students to high standards, while making sure they know that it is okay to not know or to need help. The students know they can trust her and this is why I often hear older students say, "I miss Ms. Puentes, she is one of my favorite teachers." It doesn't stop with the students, she is an amazing support to our staff, not just in her department. She is present in our hallways and at our events. She is everything many of our Westview Wildcats need and I am thankful to work with her. Thank you for all that you do and always being willing to learn and grow!

I reached out to Christina on the day of our field trip due to a scheduling issue with our venue. We needed a driver earlier than expected. Christina was able to dispatch our bus driver and our Pre-K students were able to make their first field trip on time. Christina thank you so much, you made our day and our students enjoyed their first bus ride.
· Donquiesha McCardell of Transporation / Bus Driver (via Lucila Garza): I want to thank Donquiesha for being our bus driver this week for our first field trip.
