Meet the Teacher
Welcome Back
My Background
Go App State!
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Since graduating, I have had the privilege of teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I have also served as an interventionist for the App State Academy at Elkin.
Over the years, I have developed a teaching style that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in order to foster problem-solving skills and independence in our learners. My goal as an educator is to inspire my students to love learning, to see their own potential, and to equip them with the skills they need to be successful both inside and outside the walls of our classroom.
Life Outside of the Classroom
My Family
My husband, Tanner, and I are blessed with two boys, Tucker and Tate, who keep us active and on our toes! Tucker, a rising second grader, and Tate, a rising kindergartener, will also be joining the WE family. We are all eager to embark on this new journey together!
Family time for us often includes outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and practicing our favorite sports. We also love to read, craft, and play card games together.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you and I can't wait to learn more about your families! I'm honored for the opportunity to join the WE community and I'm excited to work together to make this a fantastic fourth grade year!

Handle with Care
If your family is experiencing difficulties at home, I would like to provide additional support at school. I understand that you are not always able to share details and that's okay. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning, or weekend, please send me a ClassDojo message that says "Handle with Care". Nothing else will be said or asked. This will let me know that your child may need extra time, patience, grace, or help during the day.
