Hello Parents,

It's that time of year when we set our intentions for the new year. It is my sincere hope and plan to do my best to meet the needs of you and your children as they make their way through this adventure called school. I want you to feel supported and know that I am always happy to talk with you at any time and work through any issues that may arise. As the leader of this school, I take my responsibility to make Trebein a safe learning environment very seriously. This not only means that we work to keep everyone physically safe, but we also go to great lengths to help students and staff feel safe emotionally. Given the turbulent times we have all come through, this area needs some extra attention right now. An additional area of focus for me is to support our teachers so they have everything they need...time, materials, training, etc. to do their jobs effectively. Teaching is far more difficult than most people realize and we are blessed to have the most dedicated, creative, hard-working professionals around!

This time of year is when we really dig deeper into content and some significant growth takes place. Students know routines and expectations and it's amazing to see the focus at this point each year. Your child will go home a different person in May than he/she was in August. It is an honor to be part of this magical process.

As always, thank you for sharing your children with us. We promise to take good care of them while they are here.

If your child will be absent, arrive late, or needs to be dismissed early, please notify our Main Office staff as early as possible each morning via the following email address:

Please always include your child's teacher on the email as well.

If your child will be absent or arriving late to school, you can also call the absence line (937-458-2300) and choose Option 1. This is a 24-hour line.

Trebein's latest SHINE award winner is Jackson's Gomm. Jackson is a 3rd grade student in Mrs. Overholser's class.

Jackson was nominated for being a superior role model for his peers. He is conscientious of the rules and expectations and goes out of the way to assist peers and teachers. He is quick to follow instructions and he models good citizenship on a daily basis.

Spirit Day is the last Friday of the month (Friday, January 27th)--wear your favorite Trebein gear to show your spirit!

The Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA) Executive Director Dr. Dave Axner presented Superintendent Paul Otten with the Exemplary Leadership Award at the Beavercreek School Board meeting on December 8th.

This award is presented for outstanding educational leadership in making significant contributions to educational administration in a school district, educational service center, or educational institution.

Each month, Superintendent Otten will be available at the Board of Education office, 3040 Kemp Rd., twice a month to chat with community members. Check out the chat schedule below:
