ROBERT T. HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL
WEEK OF OCTOBER 2, 2023
CAMPUS MISSION & VISION
Vision (What We Strive to be)
The vision of Robert T. Hill Middle School is for our students to impact their community, and world which they will inherit, while trailblazing the trajectory of their lives.
Mission (Our Daily Work)
The mission of Robert T. Hill Middle School is for students to engage in innovative problem solving through a process of investigating the world, developing empathy, communicating ideas, and taking action against social injustices.
A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL RUIZ
Highlander Family,
This week is Homecoming Week at Hill and it promises to be our best one yet! Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate! See below for the flyer. This year, our Athletic Booster Club is selling mum and garters! They will see out fast!
Thank you to everyone who supported Hill at the first annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival at BA this past Friday! It was amazing to see our students' art work and our dance team perform! Go Hill Go!
This past week, we were given the green light from the district to continue our journey with the State to become an Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) National Demonstration School! Our official state visit will be on Thursday, October 26. As an AVID campus, we are ensuring rigorous instruction, access and equity for all students, aligning our work to a common vision and believe in students' potential. This is a recipe for all our students to soar!
Here are a few reminders to ensure students continued success at Hill:
- Students should bring their district fully charged technology with charger, and Yondr pouch daily.
- Fridays are typically jean and Students Wearing Appropriate Gear (SWAG) day. Please ensure your child is not wearing pajamas, leggings or torn & ripped jeans on those days.
- ID badges are required to be worn around their neck and will be checked as they enter each classroom. Students who do not adhere to our dresscode policy will be disciplined based on the district code of conduct handbook.
- If your child has an afternoon appointment, please have them picked up before 3:15 p.m.
- Hoodies are not allowed to be worn in the building.
- Please remind students to bring their lunches if they do not wish to eat our school lunches. Uber Eats and other food deliveries are not allowed.
This is our year to DREAM BIG, EXCEL BEYOND!
