TMS May Newsletter
2016-2017
Principal's Post
Dear Tidwell Family,
It is hard to believe that May is already here. We are in the home stretch and the finish line is just around the corner. On Tuesday (May 2) we begin our STAAR testing for Algebra 1 EOC. Next week begins STAAR testing for Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. Tutorials are being offered if students need extra assistance and they can always schedule tutorials, by appointment, with their teachers for that extra help.
Titan Cup is scheduled for May 19 and has always been a very popular and successful event. Since May is packed full of activities, please continue to check the website for the latest information.
Tidwell Middle School strives to meet and exceed the District’s expectation for 97% attendance for our students. I am proud that Tidwell has not only met that expectation, but also exceeded it. This school year (Aug. 22, 2016 – April 21, 2017) our students had an attendance rate of 97.34%. With the best attendance rate for a secondary school in the District, I have to brag about how very proud I am of our students. School attendance is important and our students show that they want to be part of the many great things that are happening at Tidwell.
I wanted to “Thank You” again for the tremendous support that you have shown to your children, teachers, and staff this year. We, at Tidwell, are very appreciative.
With Titan Pride,
Rhett King Ph.D.
