March 7th - March 17th: No school, teacher work days and Spring Break

Classroom teachers sent home forms for families in Grades 1, 2 and 3 for the opportunity to get free dental sealants. We ask ALL families to return the forms. Just indicate YES or NO!

Mississippi's nurse Michelle Erickson has once again partnered with Community Dental Care to provide dental sealants at no charge for students in grades 1, 2 and 3. Community Dental Care is a nonprofit organization and a Minnesota Health Care Programs community health clinic established to provide quality dental services to low-income and minority patients. Their mission is to provide culturally sensitive community oral health care, preventive education and professional training, and to advocate for access to all. Their vision is that all people will have access to high quality, affordable dental care to improve their overall health in a convenient, caring, and respectful environment. Clinics are located in St. Paul, Maplewood, Robbinsdale and Rochester.

We are gearing up for a very busy month of activities and would love your assistance to keep things running smoothly. Please first complete the Volunteer Application and then click any of the links to learn more about each volunteer opportunity and to sign up.

Jan 28th (evening): Volunteers are needed to help with chair setup, organizing students, and recording the 3rd Grade Concert.

Feb 13th - 20th (various times): Volunteers are needed to help students and families with purchases at the Book Fair.

Feb 26th - 27th (during the school day): Volunteers are needed to escort students to and from the health office for the Dental Sealant Event.

The Mississippi PTO meets monthly. This is a great way to see what's happening at Mississippi and support your school. Join us even if you can't come every month! Meetings are 6:30-7:30pm in the library.
