St. Thomas School
Mid-Week Memo: September 18, 2024
Our Mission:
St. Thomas School serves the parishes of St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Spirit, and St. Matthew.
In partnership with the family, we are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of the whole child. Our mission is to instill Catholic values, foster self-discipline, and promote academic excellence in the spirit of a caring, affirming community.
From the Principal's Desk...
Greetings, St. Thomas families!
The past two weeks we conducted two safety drills: a fire drill and a lockdown drill. Students are made aware of the date and time of our first drills of the year, and I speak over the intercom prior to the drill to walk them through the protocol. I then announce the drill on the intercom (no loud alarms used) and they begin the practice drill. Each drill went exceptionally well. Our next drills will be announced, and the alarm will be sounded - students will have fair warning for this one to cover their ears so they become familiar with the noise before sounding it unannounced. We plan to hold these drills once per month. Please talk to your child(ren) about the importance of practicing safety - the more we practice the better our brain and muscles remember what to do in the event of an emergency. Safety first!
FACTS You might have noticed by now that lunch accounts are by family rather than by student. This eliminates the need to transfer money between student accounts and payment to multiple accounts. We hope this eases the management of lunch accounts moving forward. The remaining pieces of our FACTS transition include a punch in/out time clock for EDP, our reporting process (progress reports and report cards), and the application and enrollment process (more information coming in January 2025!). So far there have been expected bumps in the road, but overall the results we are seeing for efficiency on our end are significant. Thank you for all your patience and understanding!
Please note important information below:

Upcoming Events:
September's Dining-to-Donate: RaiseRight!
Instead of partnering with a local restaurant this month, St. Thomas will be pushing its RaiseRight gift card program!
Order a gift card through RaiseRight, get the items you need, and help St. Thomas at the same time! Look at how a gift card purchase helps the school! No extra money spent. No wasted value.
There are also over 750 stores online at www.RaiseRight.com! St. Thomas’ Enrollment Code is 417B77LL27738 for online purchases.
Physical orders are processed every Monday, and gift cards are available for pickup on Thursday (of the same week) in the afternoon. Order forms, like the one below, can be obtained from the main office or printed off at home.
Purchase a handful today, and thank you - as always - for your support!
