Student Fee Information
As every parent knows, our elementary and intermediate schools typically have school-wide fundraisers to provide funds for numerous school needs. These needs include materials and equipment used for classroom activities, consumable materials for the classrooms, technology needs, student rewards, and more. Over the years, middle school administration has received many comments from parents who were tired of these and would prefer to simply contribute the money they would spend themselves on the fundraiser.
As a result, school-wide fundraisers at the middle school level have been replaced with a student fee. We are asking parents to pay a $20 student fee for the 2024-2025 school year.
Starting AUGUST 1st, this fee can be paid at schedule pick up or online by using the following link:
https://ok-mustang.intouchreceipting.com/
Our hope is that it simplifies your life by eliminating the school-wide fundraisers and the fees that have typically been associated with some classes.
NOTE: If your child is involved in extracurricular activities such as athletics, band, vocal, etc., there will still be some program-specific fundraisers your child may be asked to participate in order to raise funds specifically for that program.
First Day of School - August 13th!
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 13th! Classes begin at 8:40 a.m. and release time is 3:35 p.m. Doors to school open at 8:10 a.m. All car riders will need to be dropped off on the north side of campus in the car rider line - please be sure to drop your students off at the curb to ensure an expedited and safe drop-off. Drop off is not permitted in the parking lot or sides of the building.

MCMS Binder System
At MCMS we use a binder system to help students stay organized throughout the year. Binders will regularly be checked through the advisory class and each subject area has selected the supplies that will be essential to success in their classes this year! You can watch the short video below to preview some of the 7th grade supplies and an example of how to set up your binder!

Cell Phone & Other Personal Technology Device Policy
Technology can be a wonderful resource in education. However, the use of cell phones and other personal technology devices (PTDs) are incredibly distracting to the learning environment. At MCMS, we have the following policy to ensure the least amount of distraction to our students' learning experiences.
Mustang Central Middle School Personal Technology Device (PTD) Policy
All cell phone/PTD practices at MCMS will follow Mustang Public School district policy #2140. PTDs include but are not limited to laptops, computers, tablets, cellular phones, smart phones, smart watches, earpods/airpods, or headphones. Portable speakers are specifically prohibited at all times.
Cell Phones/PTDs are allowed
Before school in the gym and the cafeteria until 8:35 a.m.
After final bell at 3:35 p.m. in the gym and car rider line.
Cell Phones/PTDs are NOT allowed between 8:35 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. (must be off and inside backpack):
In the classroom, between classes and in the bathrooms.
To be used to photograph or record another student or staff member (includes buses).
In the hallways.
After leaving the gym or cafeteria before school.
During a school assembly.
In any manner that causes a disruption to the school day for any student or staff member.
To access inappropriate material while on school property.
To be used to bully, harass, threaten, intimidate, or otherwise tease another student.
In a hand or pocket during above stated restricted times or areas.
Standard consequences of violation of school cell phone/PTD policy/contract (actual consequences may vary due to severity of the violation):
1st violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in the office and picked up by the student at the end of the day
2nd violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in the office and picked up by the student at the end of the day
3rd violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in office until a parent/guardian picks it up in the office
4th violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in office until a parent/guardian picks it up in the office and meet with administrators to discuss further actions.
*These consequences apply to the incidents per student and not incidents per PTD.
*The school and its employees are in no way responsible for any theft or damage of cell phones/PTDs while on school grounds. The school is not obligated to investigate the loss or damage of any cell phone/PTD.
