MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good evening Titans,
We are hours away from starting a new school year. Since leaving in May, all I have thought about is starting school on August 5th. I don't know about you, but I have many butterflies swirling with excitement and wonder about the brand-new school year. I have been looking forward to the first day of school, and the back-to-school energy feels so good!
To Our 6th Grade Parents,
Your 6th-graders are ready, and so are you! There will be lots of people helping with smiles and kind voices. We have posted additional signs for our students to help navigate the hallways. Your children will come home with stories to tell. I know they are in middle school now, and you might think you can lean in less, but I urge you to lean in even more. Ask questions and engage with your 6th-grader. Here are some questions: "What was the best thing at school today? How did somebody help you today? What was the coolest thing, place, class at school?" Continue to do what you were doing in elementary school. Changes are coming for your child's developing mind and body, which can be challenging. Open communication and a solid relationship are the foundations for getting through middle school challenges.
To Our 7th and 8th Grade Parents,
I hope you noticed all the changes that took place over the summer. In addition to your children growing an inch or half-a-foot, our teachers have worked hard to ensure everything is in place in their classrooms. We look forward to having our taller, older, and wiser students back and implementing new changes in the 7th and 8th grade Humanities and STEM halls. Tomorrow is going to be a great day, and this year is going to be fantastic!
To All Parents,
A BIG reminder that things run slow the first several days and the first week. The buses will run late, the carpool will move slower, traffic will be heavy, and we are still working out a few kinks in the school. This can be frustrating when emotions are already high, and the kids are tired because they are readjusting from their summer schedule. Please pack extra snacks for your hungry children and make sure they have a refillable water bottle. Please plan accordingly to reduce any stress by expecting a few glitches during week one. Please grant as much GRACE and KINDNESS as possible - not just for teachers, staff, and bus drivers...but for your children, yourself, and other parents too! Getting back into a routine is not easy. However, it will happen because it always does. Remember, we are all getting back into the routine, and "We are in this together!"
Happy First Day of School!
