Greetings Poynter Families!

Last Thursday was such a fun day. First off, we had our first dance of the year. Students appeared to have a great time and were so appreciative of you allowing them to attend. That evening, the PoynterGreen band put on an outstanding performance highlighting mental health. These events bring our community together and is one of the many reasons I feel lucky to be a part of it.

This is the last week of Quarter 1 and Friday is a grade prep day for teachers. This means there is no school on Friday. It's also a spirit week!

Friday night, Liberty's Football team faces Century High School. To help ensure that we have a safe and fun environment, middle school students will need to be accompanied by an adult and need to be seated in the stands most of the time. Also, please keep the following at home:

• Backpacks
• Outside food & drink
• Bikes, skateboards, & scooters

HSD is continuing to accept feedback for the 2025/2026 & 2026/2027 School Year Calendar. Here's a link to the survey. Survey responses will be accepted through Friday, November 1st. For information, you can check out these 2 videos.

On October 31, we are having a costume spirit day. While selecting costumes, please keep the following in mind:

• Masks, fake blood, and face paint are not allowed
• Weapons (even though we know they aren't real) are not allowed
• If students wear costumes that depicts a stereotype of others' identity, they will be asked to change.

We will have our first Spirit Week October 28th-31st. Here are the days:

• Monday (10/28): Future Falcons (come dressed in Liberty gear or colors)
• Tuesday (10/29): Jammies & Stuffies
• Wednesday 10/30: Old vs. Young (come dressed either as a young child or an older person)
• Thursday 10/31: Halloween Costumes

There is no school on Friday, November 1st. This is a day for our teachers to prepare student grades for Quarter 1.
