Happy Friday!
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break filled with, family, and relaxation. As we get into the holiday season, there are many activities happening in and around the school, so please stay connected by checking with your child’s teacher for the latest updates and events.
We are excited to announce our school-wide Festive Fun Week happening from December 16th through 20th. Here’s the schedule:
Monday, 12/16 - Holiday Headwear: Wear Santa hats, reindeer ears, elf hats, or any holiday hat you love!
Tuesday, 12/17 - Holiday T-Shirt Day: Students can wear holiday-themed T-shirts.
Wednesday, 12/18 - Sweater Day: Show off your favorite holiday sweater or sweatshirt—ugly sweaters encouraged!
Thursday, 12/19 - Holiday Colors: Dress in festive colors like red, green, gold, blue, white, or silver.
Friday, 12/20 - PJ Day: Cozy up in your favorite holiday pajamas for a comfy and fun end to the week.
Note: The 5th-grade students will swap Thursday and Friday activities as they’ll be attending The Nutcracker at Music Hall on Friday.
*Friendly Drop-Off Reminder*
To ensure the safety of all our students, please remember to use the designated vehicle drop-off line at the back of the building each morning. Officer Sikora has kindly spoken with a few parents who have been dropping students off at the front, but this area is reserved for families who park and walk their children in, as well as our bus riders. We have staff members ready and available at the back to assist your children safely into school. Thank you for your cooperation!
*DISMISSAL CHANGES*
To help ensure students arrive at their correct dismissal location, we kindly ask that you contact the main office by 2:30 PM if there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan. While we understand that emergencies can happen, we’ve noticed a significant increase in last-minute changes around 3:00 PM, which can cause confusion and delays.
By notifying us by 2:30 PM, we can make sure your child receives a dismissal note and reaches the right spot after school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us

Hello Kramer!
If you would like to help Kramer families in need of holiday gift help, please consider purchasing an item off of our Amazon wishlist. These are gift items requested by guardians for their children. These items will be sent to Kramer and our school social worker, Chelsea Pike, will coordinate getting each family their gifts. This list will be left up until December 6th. Any contribution is extremely appreciated! If you have any questions (or are in need of holiday help) please contact Chelsea Pike at pikec@talawanda.org. We are also requesting gifts be unwrapped, but would like to give guardians wrapping paper/tape, so we are accepting those donations, as well.

RAH
Attention families of Kindergarteners, 1st, and 2nd Graders:
Don't Forget to turn in your RAH (Reading At Home) Sheets EVERY WEDNESDAY!
RAH is a voluntary program designed to encourage students to read by rewarding their reading achievements at home. Books can be read by, to, or with your student.
Fill the record sheet by reading books (remember they can read independently, with you, or even just listen to you read to them.) Color in a book on their RAH record sheet for each book or 10 pages of a chapter book. Then every Wednesday students who return a completed RAH sheet will receive a weekly reward. Rewards will alternate weekly between a small prize (pencils, erasers, bookmarks, etc.) and a book of their choosing from the RAH Book Cart. (Sheets can be sent into school any day, but rewards are only distributed on Wednesdays each week.) We will reward students for 1 sheet each week; extra sheets will be "banked" and rewarded at the end of the school year. A new record sheet will be sent home each Wednesday with their reward. (If you misplace your record sheet, no worries! Just record "20 Books Read" on a piece of paper with student name, teacher name, and parent signature, and send it in to school.
Thanks for all your support, and Let's Get Reading!

The Oxford Lions Club Sight Saving Committee is collecting used eyeglasses, as well as glasses cases! These glasses and cases are donated all over the world to children who are in need. The lenses and frames from the donated glasses are modified to meet individual children's eye needs. Every year, Oxford Lions Club collects and sends 900-plus pairs of glasses to children in need!
Please send any glasses donations to Betsy Beaton (Marshall Elementary School) or Shaunna Tafelski (Board Office) by December 16th, 2024. We are happy to swing by and pick up glasses donations or they can be dropped off at Marshall or the Board Office. Thank you for supporting the Oxford Lions Club! :)
The district Diversity and Equity Committee is seeking representatives from the following areas: City of Oxford, Reily Township, Hanover Township, and Milford Township.
