Wolman Elementary Newsletter

News from Ms. Ricks, Principal
The weather the past couple of days has been amazing! What an awesome time of year it is to enjoy the outdoors! Unity Day and our Digital Citizenship week has been fun and great messages surrounding kindness and responsibility have been shared with our Explorers! They really do have big hearts and we love seeing their connections with each other and our RJWE Staff! We have been very fortunate to welcome many GUIDES volunteers this week! It is wonderful having them in the building as our GUIDES bring smiles to our Explorers' faces! Also, our PTA's Hospitality Crew has been showering our RJWE staff with awesome appreciation treats this month! We are very grateful for their outpouring of thoughtfulness! Another highlight of the week was our HOOT LOOT cart! We've almost made it to all the grade levels and our Explorers have been so excited to "cash in" their Hoot Loot for fun prizes! We are very proud of the hard work and responsibility they displayed to earn their Hoot Loot!
As we move quickly through the month of October, we'd like to share that there will be a fun opportunity for students in grades Prek-4th to dress in "career" attire on October 31st, which will be a great way to celebrate where our students will be taking their learning in the future! "Career" attire should be dress code appropriate including footwear that can be worn at recess/PE. Costumes, masks, toy weapons, etc. should not be included in students' "career" attire. We encourage our students to show their creativity using items they already have at home. If you have any questions regarding the "career" attire your Prek-4th grader plans to wear on October 31st, please ask their homeroom teacher. Halloween costumes, treats/treat bags, candy, etc. should be saved for home and not worn/sent to school.
The newsletter sections below include lots of wonderful campus and district event information as well as information from our Wolman Elementary PTA! Please review the sections carefully! Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the beautiful weather!

New Procedures Regarding Lunch Visitors
It has been great seeing so many lunch visitors! As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the 24-25 Lunch Visitors Parent Permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student. Please note the following: Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings. PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. The following links will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!
