QT4: Week 5, May 11-15
Happy Mother's Day!
Today, we celebrate all the incredible women we call "Mom"—our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, friends, and even those who step into the role in unexpected ways, including some amazing dads. These women hold a special place in our lives, offering love, strength, and guidance.
To all our Tornillo moms: It has been an absolute joy and honor to watch your children grow this year. Thank you for trusting us with their journey—we are always here to support them. Wishing you a beautiful and joyful Mother's Day!
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing community for helping us celebrate our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. We are deeply grateful to our educators for the love, dedication, and heart they pour into their work each day. Teaching is no easy task, but our staff rises to the challenge with passion and purpose—for every single Coyote.
Please take a moment to read our newsletter to see the events for the week.

Student Behavior & Campus Wide Expectations
We have exceptional students at our school and we love our students. We have seen an increase in referrals to the office as well as discipline referrals in and out of the classroom over the last week. As we get closer to the end of the school year, please continue to have conversations with your child regarding school and classroom expectations. Aside from negative consequences, additional consequences imposed at this time of year might include the removal of school incentives, field day, dances, or other fun type of activities. We are here to support all our students and appreciate your support.
We want to inform you about a recent TikTok challenge that may pose a serious safety risk to students. Please read the "Important Parent Message" for more detailed information.
As a friendly reminder, please, no outside toys such as dolls, stuffies, or gaming systems. Sport balls are still ok to bring if used during lunch or before school starts.

Important Parent Message
We want to make you aware of a recent TikTok challenge that has been circulating online and may pose a serious safety risk to students. While we will not promote or name the challenge here, it encourages behavior that is dangerous, disruptive, and potentially harmful.
We kindly ask that you take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of making safe, respectful choices—both online and in person. Social media can have a powerful influence, and students may feel pressured to participate in viral trends without fully understanding the consequences.
At school, we are reinforcing messages about digital citizenship, safety, and personal responsibility. We also want to partner with you in keeping our students safe. Please monitor your child’s social media use and encourage open conversations about what they’re seeing and sharing online.
If you have any questions or concerns, or if your child needs support, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to work together in keeping every Coyote safe, respectful, and ready to learn.
Thank you for your continued support.
