RULH Jr./Sr. High School Library Celebrates Black History Month
The RULH Jr. Sr. High School library is celebrating Black History -not only this month - but all year long with an assortment of reliable and accurate historical resources!
During the month of February the RULH Jr. Sr. High School Library is proud to join the rest of America in recognizing the history of the struggle for civil rights and equality and the sacrifices that so many African Americans have endured.
The February Display in the library offers a wide assortment of historical references for students to study America’s past Black Historical events including topics such as civil rights, slavery, the Underground Railroad and the Constitution. Highlights in the library also include resources to proudly inform students of our local history - rich in evidence of local heroes that offered refuge and escape for many slaves along the Ohio River Valley Region and names we all recognize - John Parker and John Rankin. Many heroes across all disciplines are highlighted in the fields of art, music, literature, politics as well as aviation and sports. Black History is American History. It is part of the library's mission to connect students with their past in order to create a brighter future for all.
In the photos, High School Students Kaydee Powell and Alexander Nash are enjoying previewing some of the resources on display for Black History Month in the RULH Jr. Sr. High School Library.
