March Month of Giving
ASB's newly formed Outreach Committee is hosting "March Month of Giving." After much deliberation, the committee decided that the focus of this year would be helping low income and unsheltered individuals/families.
During the month of March, we will be collecting donations of toiletries to build hygiene kits that will be donated to the Salvation Army Kroc Center Family Resource Department. A donation box will be located in the front office. The donation drive needs unopened (preferably full size) toiletry items. This is includes, but is not limited to: Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap, Razor, Lotion, Period Products, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, Deodorant, Mouth Wash, Floss, Socks, Bandaids, Brush/Combs, Tissues, Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, and Lip Balm. The committee is also looking for donations of Gallon-sized Ziploc Baggies to create the hygiene kits.
Following the donation period, ASB will host a hygiene kit building event where students can assist in building the kits. Please help us achieve our goal of building 50 hygiene kits. "A helping hand can be a ray of sunshine in a cloudy world."
Upcoming Events
Native Garden Planting Event
Hello everyone. We hope you are all well.
This message is on behalf of the MEA Native Garden Club. You may have seen us working behind Ms. Rice's room on Tuesday mornings.
If you haven't heard of us yet, our club is working to establish a natural, outdoor area on the K-12 school campus to educate students and provide habitat for wildlife. The garden will become home to various native plant species to jointly support native wildlife.
This message is regarding our first ever school-wide event!
On April 9th, from 8 - 10:45 am, we will be hosting a planting event behind Ms. Rice's room, B16. Everyone from K-12 is invited to join us to "adopt" a plant. You will be able to choose from a variety of native plants and, if you please, name the plant. So, if you are interested, please join us!!
You may show up at any time between 8 am and 10:45 am. Parental supervision is required for grades K-5.
Please fill out the following form so we have a rough estimate of how many people will attend.
Thank you and we hope to see you there!
Spring Art Show
Save the date! Our second annual M.E.A. Spring Art Show is happening on Thursday, April 11th outside the Serenity Garden from 12:00 to 3:30. Come on by and check out some of the great creations made by the students here at M.E.A.
We will have work on display from several of our classes, and a rocking lunchtime performance by the illustrious M.E.A. Jamband! We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!
Build a Spring Wreath:
Mrs. Sink invites all students to participate in a lunch time activity on April 16, 17 and 18.
To create our Spring wreaths, we will gather in front of the cafeteria to create beautiful wreaths to bring home and display on your door. This event is co-sponsored by MEA’s wellness committee in our continuing efforts to “create and connect” or “gather and grow” off a device or screen.
All materials provided.
All students (K-12) are welcome! No parent supervision required. Please pickup your K-5 student at 12:30 in the front office.

Spotlight on Campus
St. Patrick's Day Shenanigans
Chaos reigned in Mrs. Finney's Room 11 twice this week as first and second grade students viewed the aftermath of a St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Party.
Those leprechauns and their shenanigans!
From sequins all over the floor to streamers from the ceiling, we attempted to make sense of what must have happened in our absence.
"We were not able to catch any leprechauns, unfortunately, but we did enjoy seeing where they had sat down for a snack of Lucky Charms, played some music, hauled gold coins from out of our traps, and left tiny footprints across our desks."

Leader in Me - Habit 6: Synergize
For month 8, our school's focus is Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.
Habit 7 is the habit of taking care of your body by eating right, exercising, and getting the right amount of sleep. It's the habit of spending time with family and friends; to learn in lots of ways and lots of places, not just at school. The habit is about taking the time to find meaningful ways to help others.
