Bulldogs Strive for Five at Wylie East Elementary

September is Attendance Awareness Month which is a time to focus attention on the importance of school attendance and set the stage for a positive and successful school year! Today, we want to highlight East Elementary and their campaign to improve attendance at their campus.

Wylie East Elementary launched a "Bulldogs Strive for Five" attendance campaign for the 2024-2025 school year which promotes five or less absences for the entire school year. Each classroom has a poster and for every day the class has 100% attendance, a letter gets added to spell out BULLDOGS for a classroom treat. In addition, students are tracking their own attendance on a calendar and school-wide attendance is posted for families to see. WEE is already seeing an improvement in attendance as compared to last year!

Wylie Bulldog Mutton Bustin' at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo!

If you are out at the rodeo this Friday or Saturday night, look for these Wylie students in the Mutton Bustin' finals! West Elementary 2nd grader, Karlie Gilmore, is competing on Friday night and East Elementary Kindergarten student, Crawford Danesi, is competing on Saturday night.

Mutton Bustin' is a rodeo event where children 4-8 yrs old ride sheep out of a chute and hold on for as long as they can. These Wylie Bulldogs earned their spots in the finals by competing in the qualifying round where they were able to "hold on" the longest to earn a final spot in the competition for this weekend.

WHS Fall Blackbox Theatre presents Queens-Sep 26, 28, 30

In TWO WEEKS our Queens will take the stage as they recount the misery Henry VIII inflicted on each of them. Henry is trapped in purgatory, bond to his throne by sinister Fools and the ghostly Women in White, he is forced to relive his sins for eternity.

The WWJH Brilliant Bulldog Club is hosting the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Patch!

at Wylie West Junior High

Bring your family and friends to help support the BBD Club as we, once again, host the 2nd annual Wylie West Junior High pumpkin patch!!! Come pick out pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors! The WWJH Brilliant Bulldog Dyslexia Club will provide a fun pumpkin photo area where you can get family pictures, and pictures with your friends! Our club will also be selling popcorn, baked goods and drinks to enjoy while you shop for your favorite pumpkins! Please tell everyone you know to come out and support these awesome students!

Troop 206 Movie Night and Smores-September 14th

Club Courage

Hendrick Hospice Care is pleased to offer Club Courage, a six-week grief support group for children ages kindergarten through 12th grade who have experienced a loss through death, divorce, separation, incarceration or deployment. This program is free of charge and open to the community, regardless of whether our hospice services were utilized.
