Stevens County June Newsletter π π
Check it out!
Happy June!π
In this newsletter, we will share our 2024 Stevens County 4-H Premium Book , learn about the club feature of the month, and view our summer catalog of opportunities as well as other events coming up!
Welcome to the month of June! For me, this is one of my most fulfilling seasons with 4-H camps, conferences, and project adventures! I am so excited for these opportunities to interact and engage with families! One of my favorite quotes is from a poem by Marianne Williamson. It says βAnd as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.β I am excited to see the βlightsβ that our youth are radiating as they gear up for our county fair! I am looking forward to seeing how their excited βsparksβ impact others, volunteers, families, and our county! How can you help our youth βlightβ up and get excited for this summer?

πClub Feature | Rendsville 4-H Club
Rendsville typically meets the first Sunday of the month at St. John's Church in Donnelly. They are active with a lot of community projects right in Donnelly. They are actively involved with livestock and non-livestock projects. Each year, club members vote on a club project that they focus on throughout the year with activities and speakers. This year, the Rendsville 4-H club project is featured around Arts & Crafts.
Want to learn more about this club? Reach out to the club leaders Lorie Oelke and Shannon Olson for more information (or connect with Savannah Aanerud).

πLQA & E Training | In person on June 10, 2024
Every year, Stevens County 4-H provides a Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA & E) training to 6th-13th graders who are planning to show livestock (not horses) at the county fair. This year, we are promoting a Feeding for Success program for folks to take part in. On the last day of this program, there will be an in-person LQA & E training in Morris. Youth must be at the event the full day on June 10, to receive credit for this training (6 hours). The below link will share more info about this training and provide other options to receive LQA & E training if the June 10 date will not work.

The nonprofit Conexiones, in Morris, hosts a Conexiones Day every year. Roughly 400 people from the Latino Community attend:) Stevens County 4-H is once again partnering with Conexiones to add a "4-H Farm Animal Alley" to the Conexiones Day event! We would LOVE families to sign up to bring animals to this experience:)
When: June 29, 2024 (the event itself is from 4:30-10pm. Our animals are only needed from 5-7 p.m.). I ask that all animals be in the horse barn by 4:30 p.m.
Where: Lee Community Center will be the base for Conexiones Day, however, our 4-H animals will be in the horse barn.
