Important Safety Reminder for All Extra-curricular Events
We appreciate families supporting Maconaquah at extra-curricular events. We want to remind all families of the importance of supervising your children at all extra-curricular events. For the safety of our students, elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in attendance at these events.
Please note that running around and engaging in rough play, such as throwing footballs, rocks, etc., can pose a risk to both players and spectators. In order to maintain a safe environment for everyone, we ask that you refrain from allowing your children to participate in these activities.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, as it helps us in creating a positive and safe atmosphere for our community.

STEM in our School
2nd & 3rd grade
Students learned directional language code for the Beebots. First they learned about how to draw the code using arrows: Forward, Backwards, Left, Right. They had a restriction of 10 arrows. Then they wrote out their own code. Next they learned about the bot and how to clear the code. Finally thety broke out into groups, they each took a turn clearing the code then entering their own code they created. After each person got a turn doing their own code they would hand their code to the person next to them and then start over in the circle trying to enter the other persons code. They also learned how important it is to write clear directions so others can read it!
4th & 5th grade
Fourth grade created a Trick or Treat neighborhood with a graveyard and haunted woods. They learned about making shapes on grid paper. For example a house has to be a 2x2, graveyard 3x4 and the woods 2x4. Then they drew their road and added color code for the Ozobots to "walk" the neighborhood.
Fifth grade tested the new i-pads out exploring the Dash robots and figured out all the cool features!
Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial for students’ academic success. When students miss school, they often miss important lessons, assignments, and opportunities for interaction with their classmates and teachers. This can lead to falling behind in their studies and feeling discouraged. It’s essential for students to attend school consistently to build a strong foundation for their education and future goals.
If your child will not be at school, you must leave the reason for your child's absence when calling into the attendance line. Thank you!
