Disco Inferno!
Greetings Webber Elementary Parents and Students,
Returning from a break - even a short one - can prove challenging. The excitement and energy of traveling, bedtimes that might be a bit later, and just resuming a routine that requires hard work - as learning does - make it so. Our Webber students and staff accepted the challenge. It was a great week, and another great week lies ahead.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are approaching, scheduled for the week of March 10. "Official" conferences days are hosted during the evenings of March 11 and 13. However, teachers also typically offer additional availability during that week. As was practiced during the Fall, parents may choose the option of selecting a virtual (Zoom) conference - rather than a traditional in-person meeting. Teachers have sent their respective sign-ups - or will do so in this weekend's newsletter. Next week, I will share a consolidated list with parents.
Escaping from the excitement of Disco Night for a moment, I stepped into my office to finish sending this communication. The turnout from our families has been amazing and it is obvious that the kids are having a wonderful time. On behalf of our school, I would like to sincerely thank the Webber PTO for putting on another outstanding event. We are very grateful!

Talent Show!
Webber Elementary' s annual Talent Show will take place on May 8. So, there's plenty of time for students to starting thinking about routines and performances. Auditions are slated for March 19.
Teachers received a sign-up and applications are due by March 5, 2025. All acts must be 2 minutes (or less). Any corresponding music for a performance must be pre-approved - please have that prepared for auditions. More details - including a sign-up for tryout slots - will be provided in the near future.

Staff Recognition - Distinguished Dragon
Throughout the school year, if you would like to recognize a staff member from Webber, we encourage you to submit a Distinguished Dragon nomination. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at LakeOrionSchools.org/DistinguishedDragon. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
