We are incredibly grateful for the many families and staff members we have in our Meridian Ranch Elementary School Family that have served and are currently serving in our military. We appreciate the sacrifices you have made for our country.

Each year we honor our veterans by inviting parents that are Active Duty or Veterans to the school for a Veteran's Day Assembly that features Mr. Winans and our fourth grade classes. Please know that we have very limited seating, as this is a whole school assembly, and ask that 4th grade families only attended the evening concert.

MRES Families,

It is important that a parent/guardian sign in students who arrive at 8:30 or later. We close the doors at 8:30 and therefore your student is late. Parents must ring the doorbell and walk their child in the building, we have too many students who cannot reach, or know how to ring the bell (this is a safety concern). Also, if we do not have a parent sign in, we then mark that student Unexcused absence.

As you are aware, Colorado weather conditions can change dramatically throughout the day. Recess is held outside unless the temperature (with wind chill) drops below 17 degrees. Coats, gloves, hats, scarves, long pants, layers, closed toed shoes are all highly encouraged during the late fall/winter months.

We love the sun, and we certainly enjoy plenty of it, but we also know to expect a few changes as we settle in for winter, which can disrupt our calendar from time to time. Make sure you know where to find updates about closures or delays, and how to help families who might inquire about our weather decision process. Learn about winter weather alerts.

Engage49 is a D49 initiative aimed at fostering district-wide partnerships among families, schools, and the community. Each month, families throughout the district will receive a one-page document focusing on topics they have identified as important

We would love to have you support our teachers and staff by volunteering at MRES! If you would like to become a volunteer in the classroom, field trips, PTA, parties, or Boomer's Buddies (Watch D.O.G Dad's) we need you to complete the online application and background check. This needs to be done yearly. There is a $5 fee for the background check. Also, please make sure you fill out the forms COMPLETELY or they will be in a holding pattern and stay there until complete.

The submission process does take a few days, so I recommend doing this early and not the day before you are planning to volunteer. Please click the link below.

Visitors During Lunch

This school year we have our "Bulldog Family Bistro Table," which has space for one family. If you would like to come to school and have lunch with your child during their lunch time, please contact the front office at 719-494-2909 to make a reservation. We can accommodate one family per grade level lunch daily. Please limit your reservations to once a week to allow for other families the opportunity to experience this time with their child. If you plan on purchasing school lunch, please indicate when making a reservation. Children not enrolled at Meridian Ranch Elementary may not visit the school unless accompanied by an adult. All visitors to the school must check in at the office with a valid ID before going to out lunchroom area and wear their “visitor or volunteer badge” at all times.
