Dear Allenwood Families,

I want to express my gratitude to our students, families, teachers, and PTG for their participation in our recent Read-A-Thon. We originally set a goal of 30,000 reading minutes, but our students far surpassed expectations—reading over 100,000 minutes! This is an extraordinary achievement, and I could not be prouder of our young readers for their dedication and love of literacy. Thank you all for your support in making this event such a success!

Our students have also made us proud by raising over 1,000 pounds of food for the Students Change Hunger Campaign. Their generosity and commitment to helping others truly embody the spirit of our Allenwood community.

Below our upcoming events and important updates at Allenwood Elementary School.

Presidents' Day – No School

School will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observance of Presidents' Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

DIBELS Testing

• Kindergarten: February 18th–21st
• Grades 1–5: February 24th–28th

The DIBELS assessment helps us measure key literacy skills, including letter and sound recognition, word decoding, and reading fluency—essential building blocks for strong readers.

Spirit Day – February 28th

Show your school spirit! Our next Spirit Day is on Friday, February 28th. We encourage all students to wear Allenwood green and display their school pride. Let’s fill the halls with our school colors!
