The Westgate Wire

• We will celebrate Halloween on the afternoon of Monday, October 31st. We will have an all school parade outside beginning at 1:45 p.m. (weather permitting). Morning kindergarteners will have a separate parade in the morning. More details will shared in the coming weeks. As a reminder, costumes should be appropriate for school with no overly bloody or scary images.They should also not have any weapons (knives, swords, guns). If your child’s costume has a mask, please be sure they can see through it and walk safely inside and outside the building.
• We are aware that some students may not celebrate Halloween. Please contact your child's teacher by October 24th if you do not want your child to participate in the Halloween activities.
• The weather has been changing daily. As the temperatures get cooler, please be sure to send your children with a coat or heavy sweatshirt.

Do you have gently used Westgate spirit wear that no longer fits and is taking up space in your closet? Here's the solution: Westgate is going to hold a Westgate Spirit Wear Swap! Simply bring in gently used Westgate spirit wear to be donated to those who do not have any. Please send any donations to the Westgate office by Friday, November 4th. This is a great way to give back to the Westgate community!

Pack the Piggies Fun-raiser!!

Are you ready to Pack the Piggy, Westgate? The Arlington Heights Council of PTA’s (AHC-PTA) funds $10k in scholarships each year for K-8 students, as well as D214 graduating seniors. This October, the AHC-PTA will be initiating it’s second annual “Pack the Piggies” FUN-raiser across the district to raise money for these scholarships.

The contest begins October 24th and goes through October 28th, five days to pack our piggy and reach our goal! Westgate‘s school goal is to raise $1k, with a district goal of $9k.To help reach our goal, you can bring in coins, cash, or checks (made out to the AHC-PTA) and pack Westgate's piggy! Let’s have some fun for a great cause!
