A Message From Mrs. Tate
Dear St. Michael families,
Thank you for a wonderful school year! It was such a blessing to see all the smiles and celebrations on the last day of school. What a perfect way to end the school year all together at our final all-school mass! Fr. Brian gave a wonderful homily where he gave his reminders for the summer months:
- Don’t take a vacation from God! He reminded students that we are united with Jesus through prayer, friendship and the Eucharist. He reminded them that there are Catholic churches all over the world, so no one has to miss Mass on Sunday even when they’re out of town.
- In this beautiful month of May – the month of the Blessed Mother – he reminded students to take time to pray the rosary. He suggested making a prayer corner in the house. He said they could add a statue or a crucifix to that corner and challenged them to read the Bible. Read one of the Gospels this summer and become familiar with the stories of Jesus. Just 15 minutes a day with the Bible will bring us closer to God!
- Unplug. He showed them a remote control and told them that it was used to turn OFF the television so they can connect with each other and God. We’re made to bond with each other. Spend time in person with friends and family.
- He put on his bike helmet to remind them to get outside and play with your friends. He shared fond memories of riding bikes with his friends and playing outdoors.
- He showed the kids a bottle of Kaboom and shared that it will clean ANYTHING! He encouraged them to do some chores around the house to be of service. Pitch in and do some work.
He suggested that everyone keep a schedule and routine this summer of prayer, play, and work. What a wonderful way to draw closer to family, friends, and Jesus!
Please join me in especially thanking those staff members who are moving on from St. Michael the Archangel. We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with each and every one of them. Best wishes and God’s blessings to:
