Message from Mrs. Mason
What a wonderful start we have had to our 20-21 school year! I have always said we have the absolute best students, staff and community and this could not be more true after seeing the incredible work every one has been doing just this first week.
I know there have been moments of struggle and times we have needed to reassess and take a breather, but the "can-do" attitude and focus on our Positive Purpose and Dedicated Discipline core values remains present and has kept us on the right path. Each day has been better than the last and I know we will be in routines in no time!
As we continue to stretch ourselves and learn during this global health era, please know my staff and I are doing everything we can to keep students safe and healthy. We will continue to meet directives and guidelines set forth by the CDC, local health officials and TEA and we are always here should you ever have questions or concerns.
Thank you for entrusting us to teach and love your most precious gifts! We are looking forward to an amazing school year together!
Glad to be PLAID,
Holly Mason, Principal

Procedure Reminders:
COVID-19:
At the top of every Klein ISD webpage there is now a COVID-19 button. If you ever need to report positive cases of students, please use this form. If someone in your direct household is positive and a Mahaffey student is a direct contact of theirs, please alert Holly Mason (hmason1@kleinisd.net) and Diane Hudson (dhudson4@kleinisd.net) so we can handle and report accordingly.
If you are ever concerned or unsure if your student should come on campus, you are always welcome to contact us and we can guide you on what decision or requirements are needed.
Also, please be certain you are still following the daily COVID screener prior to sending your student on campus.
Arrival:
Please remember that our school day now begins promptly at 8am. We are very pleased with how much time has already been cut off our arrival lines and know each day/week it will get better.
If for some reason you are dropping your student off after 8am, please park and escort your student to the main front doors. Our side access points close at 8am for staff to begin their day so those doors will lock at that time.
Dismissal Notices:
If your child will be going home a different way, please let the FRONT OFFICE and your child's TEACHER know right away. Telling the teacher is wonderful, but sometimes they can't check voicemail, Remind or email until it is after school-so your best option is always the main front office at 832-375-8300.
We ask that you have the call made by 2:45pm. If messages are not cleared or given in time, please know the teachers are trained to send kids home their regular way unless told otherwise by administration. We CANNOT take a child's word for it when it comes to leaving school safely.
Campus Deliveries:
We understand there are sometimes various situations that require drop off of important items and materials. Please help us by limiting these deliveries to emergencies only. If your student forgets lunch or minor supply items, we can always support them on campus with these things.
Library Curbside!
Klein Online Bucket Access
If you are picking up items from the grade level buckets, please note the schedule and procedures:
Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:30pm: ring door bell and a front office secretary will bring items to you
Friday through Sunday: the buckets are placed on the porch on Friday at 4:30pm and remain out through Monday at 7:30am. If coming during these time, please be mindful and respectful of other items in the buckets and be certain to close/lock it each time.
For many students, the teachers have folders that should remain in the bucket at all times and only the content of the folder should be removed.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and support while working through Klein Online with us!
Kids Eat Free Through December!
Please note On Campus students can receive both breakfast and lunch for free daily and students accessing Klein Online can access Klein2Go for their meals as well.
