Hi Stuart Mesa Parents,

Thank you parents for attending Parent Conferences! Teachers were grateful for the time you all gave to better understand how your student(s) at Stuart Mea are doing both academically and socially. The next time our teachers will be reporting out will be at first semester progress reports for Elementary and 12 week progress reports for middle school students. You can still request to meet with your child's teacher if you see any changes to your student's progress in school or if you missed your parent conference time. Please email your child's teacher to schedule a meeting time during the day. The office will arrange a sub so you can meet.

We participated in the California "Great Shake Out" on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 10:17 AM. The students did a great job on their first earthquake drill of the year.

Next week, Oct. 28-Nov. 1, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week, which includes making healthy choices for the body and mind, and creating healthy relationships. Please see the flyer for special dress up days for students next week. Bullying is also a topic we will be addressing during Red Ribbon Week.

Thank you, Volunteers! We were grateful for all the help setting up, helping classes find books, and cleaning up the fair—a special thank you to parents who donated to our spare change fund. Parents donated so students who didn't have funds to pay for books were given the opportunity to participate. The kids loved coming to the book fair. Our next book fair will be in March during "Read Across America."

Unity Day is an annual National Bullying Prevention Month event that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of difference, and inclusion. It was started by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated worldwide. We celebrated Unity last Wednesday.

Please read the next few flyers. Our PTO does an amazing Fright Night with our school community partners. We have a grade-level basket raffle in which we would love to have our students participate. We also need lots of candy to support this event. You can drop off candy in front of the school or donate it to your student's classroom teacher, and they will pass it along to the PTO.
