POWER OF GIRLS EVENT: April 12
On April 12th, from 10am-3pm, we will be hosting our second Power of Girls. For those of you who haven’t heard of it before, it is all about empowering our girls to be the best version of themselves. We held one a few years ago and it was a great day (even though there was a blizzard!). We had sessions for the girls to choose from including: making an essential oil roll on, self-defense class, Zumba and dance class, photographer, group painting (which is still hanging on our wall), service and emotional support dogs, Questions with Mandy, and meditation to wind up our day. We had awesome volunteers who made and served the girls a wonderful lunch. The girls also left with a gift bag of goodies. Our goal for this day is for them to leave feeling like they are empowered and have some tools they can use going forward.
We need volunteers for support in sessions and serving lunch. We are also looking for monetary donations for lanyards, gift bags, and lunch, as we don’t have a budget for the day. Anyone that would be interested in partaking in our day, please reach out.
We are so excited to announce that we currently have Crissy Croteau Photography, Mai Tai/Kickboxing with Spencer, Cindy’s She Shed, Dance with Janine, The Power of Self-Talk with Alida, Makeup Bags with Dakota, Dog Therapy with Jordyn, Painting with Krista & Lori and Pelican Cove Skincare.
Life as a young lady can be difficult at times. Our other goal is to make sure that they know they are not alone. We have many strong women in our community that have faced adversity and come out on top and thrived. They are such great models for our girls. These ladies are involved in our community and support it in being safe and caring. We are fortunate enough to have some of them join us for the day. The more we support each other the easier life can be!

We try to minimize the number of phone calls that go home.
- If you notice a call from the school PLEASE CHECK YOUR VOICE MESSAGES BEFORE CALLING THE SCHOOL
- If you receive a call between 9:20 and 9:30 in the morning, it is likely an Unexcused Absence call from the office. Please ensure you report your child's absences
Automated Attendance Calls
On days that buses are cancelled, please be advised that attendance typically takes longer and calls are likely to go out before we have gotten through all voicemails, emails, and phone calls. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
If your child has an appointment or is sick, please call to let us know, otherwise they will be marked as absent (unexcused). We mark attendance as PARENT CALL when they're away with permission and ILLNESS when they're home sick.
REGARDLESS of the reason ALL students MUST sign-in when they arrive after morning O Canada and MUST sign-out if they're leaving the building (this excludes if they're leaving to go for lunch and intend on coming back - NO sign-out/sign-in is required for lunch).
NOTE: Teachers may have additional ways they will communicate with you, as well.
