Sabre Families,

As we 'spring forward', there is always the reminder of being in Alberta and that we will still have a few blasts of winter left, as witnessed this past weekend.

This past weekend was highlighted with our annual Musical Theater Wake-a-Thon fundraiser. The students had lots of fun and were so supportive of one another. It is amazing to see the power of youthful exuberance and engagement, and a safe environment for kids to express themselves. Thanks to our teachers Lianne Lister and Aimee Thieven for making this happen.

Also, this past weekend, congratulations to our junior girls basketball team who won silver in division one. Although the girls lost a close game in the final, they played their hearts out and represented Salisbury in true Sabre style. Our girls battled right to the end and never quit. Congratulations to our head coach and teacher Erin Zuke on an incredible season.

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) wants to hear from you. Make sure to complete the 2020 Parent Survey—open from March 9-26, 2020.

Annually, EIPS conducts a parent survey to gauge its progress toward meeting the goals and priorities outlined in its Four-Year Education Plan. Families are asked a series of questions about their experiences with EIPS and the school their child attends, the overall performance of the Division, the quality of education being provided to students and areas for improvement. The survey feedback helps the Division develop new strategies to better serve students and the wider community.

NOTE: The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete. If you want to share the experience of more than one child attending an EIPS school, simply complete the survey again.

If you have a grade 12 student who has volunteered their time either in the community or at Salisbury during their high school years, and have definite post-secondary goals for a trade or apprenticeship program, college or university, and/or if they are in a position of financial need, please go to the student graduation page to check out which scholarship they may be eligible to apply for. All applications are available online in a fillable PDF format. Deadline to apply is April 30, 2020 unless otherwise noted by the scholarship.
