Today is the last day to reserve your tickets for the banquet. This KAES family event is a special event to celebrate with your family and KAES friends. If you haven't attended this KAES Valentines party before I assure you that it is always an amazing event. It really is a wonderful way to celebrate Valentines in a safe and family friendly environment with your KAES friends. We hope to see you there!

I Love KAES Week is a special week where we get to act a little goofy and have fun with our classmates and friends.

Monday: Enjoy a sweet treat at lunchtime.

Tuesday: Crazy Hair Day & deadline for posters and essays (Why I Love KAES)

Wednesday: 1st and 2nd place awards given in each class for posters/essays.

Thursday: Crazy Socks Day

Friday: Wear Valentine Colors (pink, white and red)

If you have been by the school this week you will have noticed a whole bunch of trees have disappeared. Our land extends over forty feet beyond what looked like our property line. The trees were growing where we plan to have parking alongside the new gymnasium. Everyday more progress is happening in the construction for our new gymnasium. It is so exciting. Please continue to support this project. We still have a lot of matching dollars available.

Congratulations Isabella for your great success in the Johnson County Spelling Bee. We are so excited for you as you move up to the next round that will take place on March 24 on the campus of TCU. All are welcome to attend and cheer Isabella on.

It has been a great basketball season for all of our KAES teams. They have played with passion and won and lost and grown from the challenges that competitive sports bring. Now it is time to document this journey for generations.

Team photos will be this Friday at 2:00pm right after school in the gymnasium for Elem girls, Elem boys and JH boys.

JH girls photo will be at 9:15 am.

KAES is looking for an additional person to help with After School Care. We are seeking someone who can work at least three days a week after school (3:15pm) until approximately 6pm. The ideal person will be punctual and enjoy working with kids of all ages. If you are interested or know of someone who would be interested, please contact Mr. Coulter through the school office at 917-645-9125.

Last week your eighth grader went home with some information about yearbook. Here is a summary of the information so that you know what we need from you.

1. No yearbook would be complete without a baby picture of each of our eighth graders. Please submit a picture by February 14.

2.(OPTIONAL) There is an opportunity to place a 1/4 page congratulations to your child. Submit a message two ways: a)Create your own message/artwork within a 5x7 area, or b)Submit text with photo(s) and leave the design to the yearbook staff. You can email entries to yearbook@kaes-sda.org

All entries need to be turned in to Mr. Weaver by the end of school on Friday, February 14. If choosing option two please submit checks at same time and make checks payable to KAES and note "Yearbook Fund".
