PreK 4

Happy Friday!!!

This week we started learning about the construction process. Students learned about the different machines that are used for construction.

The window for the CLI Engage (Circle Assessment) will open from January 21st to February 11th. Please review your student's binder at home.

This week, children will be exploring what different tools builders, artists, and children use. They will discover that tools make work easier and save time.

• It is Winter and students are using their coats and jackets on a daily basis. Please practice with your student at home so he/she is able to put on and zip his/her own jacket independently.
• Fridays are meant for Cheetah Pride. If your student has a Sunset Valley Elem shirt, please have them wear it every Friday
• Thursday is College Day. If your student has a college t-shirt, please have them wear it on this day.
• Please do not forget to send your student with a water bottle.
• If you are sending your student with a snack, please make sure that the snack is labeled with the name of your student.
• Winter is here please make sure your student is wearing appropriate shoes and clothes for the park.

Spanish Language Arts:

Reading: I can compare and contrast stories.

Writing: I can discusses and contributes ideas for drafts composed in whole/small group writing activities.

Spanish phonics focus: Letter Gg

Math: I can recognize length of an object.

Social Studies: I can engage in voting to help my classroom. (We will vote for favorite food, color, etc).

English Language Arts:

Reading: I can explore a book before reading it.

English phonics: I can compare different stories

• 1/21: CLI Engage window open.

• 2/14: VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY.

• 2/11: CLI Engage window close.

• 2/17: NO SCHOOL/ Student Holiday/ Parent- Teacher Conferences
