Warrior Weekly

The Lady Warrior Softball Team were the 2024 Bill Hill Memorial Champions! They also beat North Andrew and King City this week. Way to go ladies!

The Warrior Football Team defeated East Atchison at home!

The Lady Warrior Golf Team had a busy week, playing at home and Grant City, where all five girls posted PRs!

Last Friday, each grade at Albany R-3 held class meetings to elect their class officers. Officers were elected by being nominated by another student and then the class voting to decide whether or not to give them the position. Each grade has a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and then 2 Student Representatives to be on the Student Council. Meanwhile, our AMS elected students from all different classes to be on the Middle School Leadership team.

The Middle School Leadership team includes; Kelso Manring, Zayden Palmer, Tripp Crawford, Kamryn Constant, Trinity Findly, Katie Yocum, and Blair Ferguson. Freshman class President is Viola Smith, Vice President is Whitney Sterkis, and Secretary/Treasurer is Karlie Stevens. Sophomore class President is Jared Owens, Vice President is Izzy Manville, and Secretary/Treasurer is Jayden Hillyard. Junior class President is River Stamper, Vice President is Lauren Houge, and Secretary/Treasurer is Alexis Seiter. Senior Class President is Avah Shisler, Vice President is Tanner Williams and Secretary/Treasurer is Loren Knisley.

The High School Student Council is made up of two representatives from grade. Freshman representatives are Marley Hansel, and Dylan Anthony. Sophomore representatives are Kaitlyn Bunker, and Clayton Griffin. Junior representatives are Kylee Preston, and Shae Miller. Senior representatives are Adalyn Campbell, and Andrew Wiles. Student council President is Seth MIller, Vice President is Norah Shoush, and Secretary/Treasurer is Tanner WIlliams.

Thursday, September 12, was AMHS picture day. During which Students were pictured with their class and Middle School sports were pictured together.

Class of 2025

Mrs. Wilmes was selected staff member of the week. She is new to the Albany R-111 school district and said she is having a great time settling into her new work environment. When asked about what she is most excited for this year she said “getting to know the students and coaching softball.” Her favorite thing she’s done with students so far is taking the softball girls to a scrimmage in Maryville and then going to Pizza Ranch afterwards.She moved to the area from Springfield, Mo, and got married. She is now expecting her first child, and she loves coaching softball and almost anything related to sports.
