Parking Spots Near Playground
As safety is always a top priority for our students and families we are constantly looking to correct potential concerns. It has been brought to our attention that it is now becoming an issue with parents entering the parking lot through the east (exit only) drive nearest the playground in order to park. This is a potential hazard as this is the exit for busses and parents transporting their students by car. In order to maintain a safe environment if you are going to park in the spots near the playground you must enter the through the west drive proceed past the building and then enter the parking area. Thank you for your help in this matter and in keeping our Redwood families safe.
IMPORTANT CHANGE TO END OF DAY CAR LINE PROCEDURES!
New Car Line
I wanted to take just a moment to review the NEW End of the day CAR LINE dismissal procedure. At the request of the Avon Lake Police Department this new procedure will began on Monday, October 21st .
The car rider line will now enter through the back of the building off of Moorewood and wrap the driveway to the front of the building where students will load into cars (as is done currently) and then exit on to Redwood. The direction and order in which the car line follows is extremely important. Names are being typed into a live document and students are being lined up and brought out in that order. Cars will not be permitted to enter the line from any point other than the Moorewood entrance. Any car attempting to enter the already established line will be asked to exit and reenter as part of the line.
Once the line is established: (see MAP on back)
1. Cars SHOULD NOT be entering the car rider line turning left from Redwood.
2. Cars SHOULD NOT come straight (South) from parkwood.
3. Cars SHOULD NOT turn left from Moorewood
4. Cars Should Not come (East)across Morewood and attempt to turn into the lot off Redwood.
Please also assure you are using rearview mirror car tag. We are asking each family to print the first and last name of students using a permanent marker on the sign. (See example Below) The signs can be easily stored in a car sun visor and then displayed when you reach the car line. Having the names displayed is necessary in order to pick up your student. If you have lost you tag please use a sheet of paper to display your students name in a large, dark, legible manner.
Walkers Pick-Up
If you are parking to pick up your student from the walker’s exit. Please enter from Redwood and turn into the first entrance of the parking lot. When leaving exit again through the same exit
(See Map below for further detail)

Notes From the Nurse
Notes from the Nurse:
It’s cold and flu season, which means viruses are on the rise! We have been made aware of multiple confirmed cases of pneumonia in the past few weeks. Nursing wanted to take the time to send home a few reminders for school attendance and what to be looking out for. If your child has a continuous or disruptive cough, please keep them home. Good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses from spreading in the classroom. If your child has a fever above 100 F by mouth, please keep them home for 24 hours. Students need to be fever free without the use of medication (Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen)for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child continues to be sick, please reach out to your pediatrician for further guidance. Our goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible, we thank you for your cooperation at home as well.
