Norwood News
Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well and that you and your child are settling into the new
school year with enthusiasm and positivity. We are thrilled to report that the start of the school
year has been off to a fantastic beginning! We truly do believe that your child will move
mountains this year and can do hard things!
As we embark on this academic journey together, we want to highlight a few key factors that can
greatly contribute to your child’s success and well-being throughout the school year:
1. Good Night’s Rest: Ensuring your child gets plenty of sleep is crucial for their overall
health and academic performance. A consistent bedtime routine helps children feel
refreshed and ready to learn each day.
2. Limiting Technology: While technology can be a valuable tool, it’s important to balance
screen time with other activities. Encouraging your child to engage in offline activities will
support their development and focus in school.
3. Playing Outside: Physical activity is essential for both physical health and mental
well-being. Outdoor play not only helps children stay active but also boosts their mood
and cognitive function.
4. Consistency in Routines: A predictable daily routine helps children feel secure and
understand what to expect. Consistent meal times, homework routines, and bedtimes
can make a big difference in your child’s ability to thrive.
5. Safety in Drop-Off and Pick-Up: We want to ensure that drop-off and pick-up times are
safe for everyone. Please drive carefully and adhere to speed limits in the school zone.
Additionally, loud music can be distracting. A calm and organized drop-off helps your
child start their day on a positive note. If you are rushed and in a hurry, it can
inadvertently affect your child's mood and start their day on a stressful note.
We are also excited to announce our first Parent University event, which will be held on
September 26th at 8:30 am. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to gain valuable insights
and strategies on topics that are important to your child’s development. We will be covering:
● Literacy
● Anxiety
● Behavior
● ADD and ADHD
Your participation in these discussions will provide you with practical tools and support to
enhance your child’s learning experience and address challenges they may face. More
information will be forthcoming.
We look forward to seeing you there and working together to ensure a successful and fulfilling
school year for your child. As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Let’s move Mountains,
Mrs. Norwood
