COMMENCEMENT 2022 FAQs
Q: When is the 2022 Commencement Ceremony?
- Tuesday, May 24 at 7pm (Wednesday, May 25 is the rain date)
Q: Where is the 2022 Commencement Ceremony to be held?
- Robert Fife Stadium
Q: What time should seniors arrive?
- 5:45pm
Q: Where should SENIORS park?
- Seniors will be provided a parking pass at cap/gown distribution if they intend to drive to graduation.
- Seniors will use their pass to park on the east (bus garage) side of Jackson Memorial Middle School
- There will be parking attendants and Jackson Township Police directing traffic and checking parking passes
Q: What if I want to drop off my senior?
- Senior drop off will be in the front turnaround at JMMS (south side).
Q: Where should seniors report?
-JMMS Purple Gym
Q: Where should GUESTS PARK? [SEE MAP BELOW]
*ALL GUESTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO FOLLOW ARLINGTON ROAD TO MUDBROOK WHEN PROCEEDING TO THE GRADUATION CEREMONY*
-ALL GUESTS ENTER AT SAUDER ELEMENTARY [the rear JMMS entrance will be blocked off)
-Parking will be on the west (Sauder) side of JMMS (as we do for our football games)
-There will be Jackson Police directing traffic before and after the ceremony
*Guest traffic out of Sauder AFTER THE CEREMONY will be directed west (towards Arlington Road) ONLY
Q: Will commencement be live streamed?

Q: Will there be HANDICAP PARKING?
-HANDICAP GUESTS (with official handicap tag) will be permitted to park on the east (bus garage side) of JMMS until that lot is full
-There will be additional handicap parking on the west (Sauder) side of JMMS
Q: What time will the gates open?
-6:00PM
Q: Will the commencement ceremony be live streamed online?
-YES. The ceremony will be live streamed on the Jackson Local Schools YouTube Channel.
Q: How many tickets do seniors get to graduation this year?
-10 tickets is the cap per family
Q: How do we get our tickets?
-Each member of the Class of 2022 received an email on Monday, May 9 with a link to our Hometown ticketing system and you will be able to acquire up to 10 tickets at no
charge. The student’s nine digit identification will be used as the passcode. Tickets can be downloaded May 10-13, 2022
Q: Is it possible to get more than ten tickets?
-While we cannot guarantee extra tickets will be available, should extra tickets be made available, your senior will receive an emailed Google Form for extra ticket requests on
Monday, May 16. Extra ticket requests will close on Thursday, May 19. Extra ticket requests should be reasonable and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
Q: Where do guests sit at graduation?
-ALL SEATING IS GENERAL ADMISSION.
-Seating is available on the Home and Away sides of Robert Fife Stadium only.
-When deciding where to sit, you may want to refer to where your graduate will be seated to get the best view of him/her. This lineup is tentative and subject to change

Away Side: Graduates Taylor Leonard-Zuckett
*All guests should be seated in the stands. NO GUEST should be standing along the rail to the field once the ceremony begins.
Q: Where is Handicap Seating at Robert Fife Stadium?
-Handicap seating is provided at Robert Fife Stadium on the Home side ONLY (This is similar to our athletic events there).

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The last day of school is Wednesday, May 25. As we have traditionally done, schools will dismiss early that day.
AT JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL:
The bell schedule for underclass exams on May 24 and 25 is listed below. Please know that any student with an “A” average may be exempt from their final exam for that class. Some AIR state tested courses are allowing students to choose whether or not they want to take their final exam to improve their grade. Please ask your child's teacher if you have a question about a specific exam policy. Also, please know that CCP courses may have to default to the college policy regarding exams which supersedes our school policy. The bell schedule is as follows:

Period 0, 6:50 - 7:35
Period 1, 7:40 - 8:30
Period 2, 8:35 - 9:25
Period 3, 9:30 - 10:20
Period 4, 10:25 - 11:15

AT JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ELEMENTARIES:
On the last day of school, students will be dismissed at 12:20 pm with the intent that buses exit the parking lot at 12:25 pm. Parent pick-up will begin at 12:15 pm.
Please note we will not serve breakfast on May 25, 2022.
CENTRAL OFFICE CLOSED ON FRIDAYS
Beginning the first full week of June, Central Office hours will be Monday-Thursday from 7 AM-5 PM as part of the district's resource conservation program.
ROBOTICS CAMP FOR GRADES 2-8
Robotics Camp for those entering grades 2-8 is back for the summer!
The camp is June 6-10 from 9 AM- 12 PM for those in grades 2-5, and 1 PM-4 PM for those in grades 6-8.
In order to register, download the form below, complete it and return to Jackson High School. Cost is $200 is registered before May 29 and $225 by June 3.
RESOURCES TO KEEP HANDY FOR SUMMER
As we begin to prepare for the end of the 2021-2022 school year we are providing important resources shared with us from our partners at Stark Mental Health & Addition Recovery. Among the resources shared here are the Crisis Text Line (4Hope to 741741) anytime day or night, the number to the Stark County Mobile Response Team, as well as useful tips and advice on how to make your home safer for children.

It is hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of the school year, and summer is on its way. What are your children planning to do this summer? Here is a list of resources to get you started. There are links to family friendly events, sports, camps, and activities in our area. In addition, here is a list of other local resources. If your child would benefit from a summer program, and it is not affordable for your family, please don’t hesitate to contact our Family Support Specialist , Kathy Yaros (330-837-3501 x1769) to see if there is assistance available.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR OPEN
To be eligible for Kindergarten in the fall of 2022, your child must be 5 on or before September 30, 2022.

Current proof of residency (rental/purchase agreement or current utility bill in your name)
