WIDA Testing
In the months of February and March, students who speak a language other than English will take a state assessment called WIDA (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment). This assessment measures a student’s level of academic English language proficiency. At this time, there are 110 students at Woodside that will take the assessment. The test consists of four separate tests - listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Students are given questions within the areas of math, social studies, science, and language arts as a means to produce academic language.
WIDA gives our students an opportunity to show what they know and helps us track their progress.

Evaluación WIDA
En los meses de Febrero y Marzo los estudiantes que hablan un idioma diferente al inglés, estarán tomando el examen WIDA, por sus siglas en inglés (Diseño y evaluación instruccional de clase mundial).
Esta evaluación mide el nivel académico de dominio del idioma inglés de un estudiante. En este momento, hay 110 estudiantes en Woodside que tomarán la evaluación. La prueba consta de cuatro pruebas independientes: comprensión auditiva, lectura, escritura y expresión oral. Los estudiantes reciben preguntas dentro de las áreas de matemáticas, estudios sociales, ciencias y artes del lenguaje como un medio para producir lenguaje académico.
WIDA brinda a nuestros estudiantes la oportunidad de demostrar lo que saben y nos ayuda a monitorear su progreso.

We require a written note or email from parents if a student is to go home with someone not listed on their emergency contacts. This must be provided before 2:00 p.m. on that day.
