A message from Principal Zeigler
Hello Brayton Families
I hope everyone has had a great week and is enjoying this beautiful Sunday!
Thank you to Mrs. Blair Kimmel and the PTO for organizing the Harlem Wizards Game! We had a great time! Our students were able to show how talented they are with an evening of Art and Music. We are so proud of them.
If you have children in grades 1-4, please make sure to fill out the Brayton Class Placement Parent Input Form no later than May 10th.
Have a wonderful week!
In Partnership,
Ms. Zeigler
An Evening of Art and Music
Thank you to Mrs. Breznak, Mr. Gleason, Mrs. Bojovic and Ms. Levine for making the evening so special.
Recycling Solar Eclipse Glasses
A Message from 2G
To the Brayton School Community:
I hope you all were able to take a moment to get outside on Monday the 8th and enjoy the solar eclipse. What a magical moment! If you plan on discarding the eclipse glasses provided to students by the Summit Education Foundation (SEF), please consider recycling them instead. The Summit Public Library will be collecting eclipse glasses and donating them to Astronomers without Borders. You could either drop your glasses off there during your next family visit, or you could send the glasses into school with your child, and Mr. Gannon will drop them off during his next visit.
Stretched Plastics Recyclable Challenge
Brayton's Fourth Grade Girl Scout Troop 42856 would like to help our community responsibly recycle stretched plastics.
If our community can collect more than 500 pounds of plastic refuse (about 40,500 plastic bags), Trex® will donate a high-performance composite bench to Brayton Elementary.
Instead of throwing away your stretched plastics, have your child bring the plastics to Brayton's lobby and place them in the labeled box. The Girl Scout troop will responsibly recycle it. See below for what can be recycled. Questions? Email at troop42856@gmail.com
Nurse's Corner
In order for medication to be administered in the school setting, a physician's order/medication form is required for both prescription and non-prescription medications. This includes all over the counter drugs such as Tylenol, Advil, cough syrup, cough drops, herbal medication and sunscreen. Like prescription medications, over the counter medications (including sunscreen) are regulated by the FDA, thus requiring a doctor's order.
You can find parent links here.
As a reminder: Please note that if your child is absent from school, they may NOT return to the building at 3pm to attend any school-based after school activities such as disc golf, play practice, etc.
Flu Vaccine
Hello Brayton Families,
The flu vaccine is highly recommended but is not a requirement for elementary school . Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Also, if your child has received the flu vaccine you can send me a copy or a note at any time and I will update their medical file.
Stay well,
Nurse Johnson

Morning Arrival
Morning arrival line up is always held outside. Please speak with your children about going directly to their line when they arrive to school. This is not the time to play and children are not allowed on recess equipment during morning arrival.
Thank you for NOT parking your car in the middle of the car line and leaving it unattended. It is unsafe as well as inconsiderate and holds up the entire line.

We love your pets, but they are not allowed on school property (even if they are held in your arms). This includes arrival and dismissal. Please review board policy 7490.
After Dismissal
Please keep in mind that students will not be allowed back in the school after dismissal to retrieve forgotten items (homework, books, instruments).
