Eight categories have been established as part of this program:
- Very Special Person Award (VSP) - May be given to an individual to recognize important service to children and youth.
- Honorary Service Award (HSA) - May be given to an individual or organization in the PTSA, school or community in special recognition of outstanding service to children and youth.
- Continuing Service Award (CSA) - May be given to an individual or organization in the PTSA, school or community for recognition of outstanding service to children and youth. This award may be given to a person whose contributions have been significant over a period of time. This award is usually given to someone who has already received an HSA.
- Outstanding Teacher Award (OTA) – May be given to recognize a teacher for outstanding service to children and youth in the school and/or community.
- Outstanding Administrator Award (OAA) – May be given to recognize an administrator for outstanding service to children and youth in the school and/or community.
- Golden Oak Service Award (GOSA) - This is the California State PTA’s most prestigious award. This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in the school and/or community. This award should be given to recognize exceptional service to children and youth.
- Elected Official Honorary Service Award- This award may be given to recognize an elected official for outstanding policy work and/or legislation that positively impacts the lives of children. This award may be given at the local, state or federal level. This award is not to be used as an endorsement of any elected official, but to celebrate the work of the elected official.
- In Memoriam or Tribute Donations(awards issued when donations of $10 or more are made by PTAs or by individuals in tribute to a person, a group or in memoriam)

Our school wide campaign for gift cards/prize donations for a big drawing on Friday May 10th continues. We are collecting the cards/ in the front office. If you have something beside a card to donate, please reach out.
Thank you to those who have already volunteered to help or bring something next week … we still need more volunteers for Friday.
AWARDS NIGHT - MAY 20TH
Awards Night will take place on Monday, May 20. 6th & 7th grade will be at 5:30pm in the Gym. 8th grade will be 7:00pm in the gym. Once award recipients have been chosen, families will receive an invitation via email to attend Awards Night on May 20th.

Future 9th graders interested in Playing Girls Volleyball in the Fall '24 at Westlake High School. There will be a Summer Camp July 15-17 and Tryouts on July 18 from 5-7:30pm. Registration is REQUIRED.

Get Ahead Program 2024 Dates to Know
- Registration Opens: February 1
- Semester 1: June 17 – July 3 (no class June 19)
- Semester 2: July 8 – 23
Please note that most courses span the full 6 weeks, with Health or one session of PE as the exceptions.
