EHS Principal's Update:Week 12
Monday, October 28, 2024
Good Evening EHS Lion Family,
Dear Lions,
From October 23 to October 31, we celebrate National Red Ribbon Week, and the Antelope Valley High School District is embarking on a mission to combat substance use through an annual initiative. Our guiding principle is simple: "Nope. Not Today. Not Ever." This Substance Prevention Campaign has been crafted to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse while fostering connections between our students, families, and the support networks they may need.
Throughout this week, we will be sharing informative content, videos, and valuable resources to champion drug-free lifestyles among our young individuals, encouraging them to embrace positive decisions. These resources will also be accessible on our NOPE webpage and through our School Counseling Google Classrooms and will be integrated into various school activities.
We strongly urge parents and guardians to engage with these resources alongside their children, sparking meaningful conversations within the comfort of your homes.
Should you require further assistance or information, please do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted adult on your campus. Together, we can create a safer, healthier future for our students. Here are our Spirit Days to celebrate Red Ribbon Week in spooky style:
- Monday, 10/28/24 – Horror Movie Monday: 🩸 Wear your favorite horror movie merch—just leave the gory stuff at home!
- Tuesday – Tim Burton Tuesday: 🕸️ Channel your inner Tim Burton character with eerie, eccentric outfits!
- Wednesday – Scarecrow Wednesday: 🌾 Throw on those cozy flannels and get your scarecrow look ready for the harvest!
- Thursday – Costume Day: 👻 It’s Halloween! Show off your best costume and get into the spooky spirit. Please see the flyer below for Halloween Costome rules.
- Friday – Hide from the Monsters Day: 🦅 Time to blend in! Wear your best camo and disappear from sight.
As always, tutoring is available for students seeking academic support. After School tutoring is available for all student Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:40pm - 4:30pm. Before school tutoring is available Monday-Friday from 7:40 am - 8:40 am.
Let’s make it a hauntingly fun week! 🎉

Queridos Leones,
Hoy No. Nunca."
