March 2025

Its Spring Time -- or Almost!
As we move into nicer weather and the snow melts, take a moment to pack an extra pair of pants and socks into your child's backpack. Mud, water and some ice patches can do a number on your child's clothing at recess while playing. Even though we encourage students to stay off ice and out of water, accidents do happen when the mud and water are all over. An extra change of clothing in the backpack can save you an extra trip to bring that change of clothes to the school. Thanks a bunch from us!

Report Cards -- On Parent Portal -- March 25th
Southwood Term 2 Report Cards will be available on your Parent Portal Account on Tuesday, March 25th. Report cards are like roadmaps for students and their families, showing the journey of learning throughout the school year.
- Report cards are a snapshot of academic progress, highlighting strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Report cards help students and their parents understand their academic performance and set goals for improvement.
- Report cards serve as communication tools between teachers, students, and parents; a way of surrounding students with support for academic success.
- Please take a minute to read and go over your child's report card with them at home, celebrate achievements, look at ways to improve and support them becoming learners. If you have questions or have difficulty accessing your child's report online, please contact your child's teacher.

All Visitors Please Check In At The Office
Please use the front doors near the office to enter the building. The secretaries will be happy to help you. As an early years school we value the relationship that we have with all of our families and we will always welcome you. We care about the well-being of all of our students which is why it is important for parents and visitors to use the front doors and check in at the office.
Parents are also reminded that when alternative home arrangements are being made for your child, please notify the office prior to 3:00 p.m. Students will not be released to individuals that are not their legal guardian unless the teacher has received a note or the individual is listed as an emergency contact in our system.
We thank all of you in advance for helping us create a safe environment for our students.
Chocolate Sales - Thank You!
Prizes can be viewed in the office and on our Instagram page -- these are based on the amount of cases sold and an email will sent out to winners by March 10th.
