Students' supplies and lockers
All Chrysalis students have all their school supplies listed below. They also have their binder with dividers and paper. We had requested a combination lock for your child in the supply list. Please make sure your child has a lock by Tuesday, September 13. We will be assigning and issuing lockers next week.
Students who do not have all their supplies with them daily may receive a mark on the clipboard. When students run out of a supply, they can be picked up from Mrs. Freitag's room as needed.
Open House
If you didn't get a chance to meet your child's teachers during our Meet the Teacher event in August, you will have the opportunity to do so during our Open House. On Friday, September 23rd, we will be having our Open House from 3:15 to 4:15 pm. We are excited for you to see our classrooms with student work. Should you need to meet privately with your child's teacher, you can make appointments on that day.
We will also have devices and support for you to create your HISD Parent Connect account on this day.
Student laptop's care and expectations
Additionally, the device should be brought to school daily FULLY CHARGED.

2021-2022 STAAR Results
We apologize for the delay in sending the STAAR Results from Spring 2022 with your children. Unfortunately, there was an unexcpected delay in receivng the print out from the disitrct. We are working on sorting them into homerooms so that they can be taken home by September 16.
6th grade and 7th grade math teacher
We have had a very difficult time finding a certified teacher for our 7th grade Math position. In the best interest of students' Math learning, Ms. Bacani will be teaching both 6th and 7th grade for the next 3 weeks, or less, should we find a teacher before.
The 7th graders will see Ms. Bacani on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while the 6th graders will see her on Tuesday and Thursday. The days they are not with Ms. Bacani, the students will be working with our long-term sub, Ms. Zuniga, on completing the required lessons in our math platform, MATHia, or work on independent or group practice provided by Ms. Bacani.
We are confident that with Ms. Bacani's excellent teaching and experience as a veteran teacher that this is the best course of action for both grade levels for the next few weeks.
We will continue to work diligently in looking for a talented, certified Math teacher.
